“Now now, Madame Escher. There is no need for shouting – of course we understand that you deem it utmost important to reload your lasgun and ‘tear that bloody Goliath arse up’. And we will happily provide you with all the power cells you desire.
Unfortunately it says here in my notes that you have yet to fulfil payment for your last encounter with House Van Saar. So, if you would please pay the outstanding 87 credits including fines and interest…”
– Hieronymus Edso, Power Guild broker
And yet another project. Or rather something small and inspiring enough get finished. The last months were tough ones and took a toll on both hobby and life in general, hence the total lack of updates, post and progress on my other projects.
As two long time gaming mates of mine are going to visit me on the weekend and bring their Necromunda stuff for a full out session on Saturday, I was in dire need of a warband gang for this occasion. Having neither funds for nor real interest in the off-the-peg gangs, the guilds’ artwork caught my attention.
Especially the Power Guild (Or is it the Promethium Guild? The article says ‘promethium’, the artwork ‘power’…) seemed to be the right deal for me.
The issue with missing rules was easily solved thanks to the rules for Venator hunter gangs in May’s White Dwarf, which gave me more options than I could ever utilise and left me with this gang list:
-
Hunters Leader: 1st profile, Overseer, Laspistol, Mesh Armour, Armoured Undersuit
-
Hunters Champion: 4th profile, Hip Shooting, Meltagun, Mesh Armour, Armoured Undersuit
-
Hunters Champion: 3rd profile, Fast Shot, Rad Gun, Mesh Armour, Armoured Undersuit, Van Saar House Legacy
-
5x Hunter: 4th profile, Lasgun, Mesh Armour
Converting the hunters as a kind of guild guard was a fairly straightforward job, using some leftover Genestealer Cult Neophytes and mixed them with Skitarii parts. Often done before, these parts just work really well together. To resemble the lasguns I pillaged an old Chimera kit and the radium carbines got some ne barrels.
Now for the tricky part. The champions and my leader. The latter, Hieronymus Edso, is on a good way to be finished in time. The concept phase took forever, until I finally had a grasp on how to translate the artwork into a miniature (and only using parts I already had…). I’m really pleased on how the model came out so far, but see for yourself.
The brutish champion with rad gun will probably based off a Kataphron Breacher Servitor’s torso and more green stuff robes, for the squishy one I’ll try to hunt down this model in our local GW store.
So much for a quick and short update, hopefully new ones come soon and more frequently.
