2010 Craziness!

Disneyland!!! Right before Christmas last year we decided to take the kids to Disneyland. It is my favorite time of year to go! We had a blast and the kids were far more adventurous than they have been on prior trips. We tried every ride!

Zoo Lights! We had never done this before and thought it would be fun to give it a try. It was very cool, but not something I would necessarily have to do again. I much prefer driving around looking at Christmas light! We went with Jetaime and Aaron and Aaron’s mom.

Our newest addition! For Christmas this year I decided Jay needed another little puppy! I bought him from the same breeder we used for Cooper and he is black and white. Such a cute little guy although I can already tell he is gonna be trouble! He arrived in Phoenix on Christmas Eve and I went to get him with Kiersty and Mom. He was so cute waiting there in his kennel for us. He is really a cute little guy and we decided (after much debate- Jay wanted to name him Filiberto!) that we would call him Elliot, since we live on Cooper and Elliot I guess Jay thought it was a funny idea ( I actually thought it was pretty funny too.) He fits right into the family although he is rather pesky to his big bro Cooper. They fight pretty badly sometimes, but we are hoping they get along better with age!

New Year’s Eve! We decided to have a little get together with friends this year to ring in the New Year! We had Jetaime and Aaron, Don and Whitney and Rachel and Brian over for dinner and drinks. It was a fun and interesting was to ring in 2010!

New Year’s Day! Snow Day! Taking the kids sledding was such a fun time. We went with our friends Lisa and Brad Bell and their kids. We also took Kiera and Matt Abrahamson. We also decided to take our little puppy so he could experience the snow for the first time! We had a great day full of hot chocolate, sledding, snowball fights (which, or course, the guys took waaaaay to seriously!), making snowmen and lunch at Chili’s. It was a great day!

January Jam with Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers! Our first year going to the January RCPM Concert and it was definitely the best! We actually were standing in the parking lot in front of JJ’s when Roger Clyne and the band drove up and asked if they could park where we were standing. I, of course, had to get a picture with him! We also got to stand really close to the stage during the concert because it is such a small place. So fun! We will definitely be going next year!!!

The Dirt Bike! A couple of years ago for Jay’s B.day I bought him a dirt bike online. When I received it the bike was, of course, in pieces. I called Gary and asked him to come over and help me get it put together, which really means I called him and asked him to put it together since I am no help whatsoever! It ended up that we couldn’t get it working so I gave it to him anyways thinking he would just make it work Fast forward a couple of years and it finally works! Jay absolutely loves it and the kids have so much fun terrorizing the neighborhood on the back of it! He also looks super hot driving it around!

The Camaro! Okay, so the brand new Camaro (the one that is in the Transformer’s movies) was set to come out and Jay kept talking about how cool it was. So one day we were sitting in a movie and Jay was playing on his phone and found out that the Camaro had come out and there was a dealership in town that had one on hand. He said he was going to go look at it and see if it was awesome, let me repeat he said he was going to go LOOK at it!!! This is what he came home with!

Easter! Easter is always such a fun holiday for us. We get to search for hidden baskets, have an Easter Egg Hunt at the Island’s Community Center, eat breakfast with my family and then go and have Easter Dinner with Jay’s family. It is a super busy and fun way to spend this special holiday!

Football! Skyler has been having so much fun playing football these past 2 seasons. He was on the Buccaneers for his first season and the Steelers for his second. Dad was, of course, his coach and they had a blast playing together. We are hoping for even more fun when football starts again soon!

Kiersten turns 10! I can’t believe my little baby girl is already 10 years old! This year we took Kiersten bowling and out to dinner at Rain Forest Café to celebrate. She also got to have a sleepover birthday party with waaaay to many friends! They had a blast eating cupcakes, pizza, doing mani and pedi’s, toilet papering the Bell’s house and making cute sandals. The girls were up all night!!!

Spring Break in Rocky Point! We have been going to Rocky Point for the last couple of years. Just recently we decided to start taking the kids and they absolutely love it! We spent the week of Spring Break there this year. We met up with Scott and Jamie Geurkink and kids. We all had a great and relaxing trip and the kids can’t wait to go back again soon!

Skyler turns 7! This year my little man turned 7! He had a super fun birthday playing with friends and family! He got a real camera for his birthday and he has been taking non-stop pictures! I can’t believe he is getting so big! He also starting losing his teeth this year and it hasn’t stopped. He is so cute with his missing teeth!

Rocky Point for 2 weeks! As the school year came to a close we decided that we would celebrate with a couple of weeks in RP. We packed a car full of stuff and borrowed Scott Geurkink’s friend Jeff’s RV and headed to RP for 2 fun filled weeks! The weather was perfect. What an amazing way to start the summer!!! We fished, rode on all of the toys, had a blast with friends, met new friends, ate waaay to much and just relaxed in the sun!

RCPM Adults Only Weekend- We left the kiddos at home and went away for a weekend of listening to great music, partying, risking lives and everyone almost getting arrested! (Except me and Jamie)!! This is their summer concert and we talked lots of friends into coming along. Jetaime and Aaron (of course), the Geurkinks, Todd and Amy and Chad and his girlfriend all came along for the fun. It was awesome!!!

4th of July! Since you can’t set off your own fireworks in AZ we decided we had no choice but to go to Mexico for the 4th. We talked Gloria and her family into coming as well. We once again borrowed Jeff’s RV and joined the Geurkinks on the beach. It was a great 4th of July and looks like this might be a new tradition since this was our second year!

Rainy Day! It always surprises me how much the kids love the rain! I guess its cause rain is not something we get to experience very often. Every time it rains they always want to go out and play and dance. This time Jay decided to join them!

30th Birthday in Vegas! I can’t believe I am 30 years old. I don’t even like typing it! I feel like I should be much younger then that! Oh well, at least I had a great birthday. On my birthday eve my mom and Gloria threw a great birthday party for me over at mom’s house. My friends came and it was so nice getting to celebrate with the people I love. My dad made an awesome video of my life and sang me a beautiful song. It was perfect! Jay gave me an amazing phone for my birthday- it plays movies and I can read books on it. I can also check emails and everything else… I don’t know if there is anything this phone doesn’t do!!! The next morning me and Jay picked up Jetaime and Aaron and we were off to Vegas. We stayed at Treasure Island, had lunch at Cozumel’s, hung out in the pool all day and then went to slots of fun for some major blackjack time! The next day Jetaime took me shopping and bought me my very first Coach purse! It is white and I love it! The guys went to O’Shea’s Casino to play Beer Pong and I was told they dominated! That night we had dinner at an awesome steak house and then we went to see Cirque du Soleil. It was amazing!!! Best birthday ever!!!

Boating! Last year for my birthday Jason surprised me and bought me a boat. We have had so many good times on it so far and the kids seem to really enjoy it. Kiersten loves tubing and bringing friends out to the lake. Skyler mainly just likes sitting in the back and feeling the wind on his face. A lot of times he actually falls asleep! We spent almost every weekend that we were not in Mexico on the lake and every Friday me and Jay tried to go out just the two of us to hang out and spend time together. It is so amazing being out together as a family and making these fun memories!

Back to School. A 2nd Grader and A 5th grader! The summer has been great but it is time for school to start! The kids are so excited about this year. Kiersten has Mrs. Cano and Skyler has Mrs. Cockrum! Ahhhh, I can’t believe the kids are getting so big!

Trick or Treat! This year me and Jay decided to dress up as a Cowboy and Cowgirl and get into the spirit of things! It was fun. We had a chili dinner at home and then went out trick or treating with Leah and Chip Godfredson, The Bell Family, and mom and dad. We got way to much candy, but had a good time. We also decorated scary and cute pumpkins this year! The kids (and Jay) got super into it!!!

The Travel Trailer! Ever since the family stayed in Jeff’s RV in Mexico we have wanted to get a travel trailer of our own. We knew we wanted to keep it in RP at the Reef, so we wanted something that would not be super expensive. We started shopping around and we had a very hard time finding what we wanted. On September 25, our anniversary, we were checking on Craigslist and found an old travel trailer for sale out in Tonopah. We hit the freeway and about 90 minutes later we looked upon a 1971 Yellowstone travel trailer that was a total wreck! We looked at each other and smiled…it was perfect. We purchased it for $900 and Jay decided to leave it out there while he completely tore apart the inside. It took about 3 weeks and then he brought it home. It looked awesome! He packed the kids up and hauled the trailer to its new home in Rocky Point at The Reef RV Park. It has been so perfect for our family and while I have only been able to make it out there two times, Jay has gone up lots with the kids, his dad and Andrew. We love it and plan to make lots and lots of wonderful memories together!
