Food in Glenmarie

Seriously I dunno what happen to my body.

Since starting of September I already started to cough. Then seen doctor for 4 times. Finally with lots of medicine consumption I managed to stop coughing. But I started to have slight stuffy nose voice. =.=" This week started to sneeze and have runny nose pula. And the stuffy nose voice gets worse. @.@"

For heaven's sake I need more rest. I had been sleeping for at least 8 hours since last week but still not enough. Maybe I have to sleep at 9am.

Finally my company moved to USJ already. It's even closer to my house. Hehe. Go work 15-20 minutes can reach already. Coming back about 30 minutes can reach. So cool right? The lab looks so much more beautiful than the previous one. Summore the new lab got new air cond which is of course cooling and refreshing! =D The only problem is that there's no Chinese economy rice stalls nearby the company. Only some Malay restaurant and a Chinese hawker shop with only noodle soups and char kuey teow. Hopefully more restaurants will open there la.

-

Although Glenmarie is very crowded with cars, but I will still miss the curry mee and nasi lemak there.

I'm gonna recommend the nasi lemak here. It's located beside a curtain shop which is at the corner of a row of shoplots. Beside the shoplots is a Petronas petrol station. The nasi lemak stall is beside a row of double storey houses, extended from the first house.

Image
The car was pointing at the entrance of the stall

Long queue during lunch time

Image
The stall with some lauk to come with the nasi lemak

Their specialty is the fried chicken
Image
Freshly fried sizzling chicken meat

Image
I didn't choose any other lauk. The price is quite reasonable. The fried chicken tastes good but it's quite hard to chew. But I like the fried chicken skin. Hehe...

Another food I wanna recommend is the curry noodle at Chicken Cuisine.

Image
It's very thick and the curry aroma is very rich!

Image
This is the stall and the workers

This shop is located at one of the shoplots (2nd shop from the end) at the small town of Glenmarie. It's very easy to find coz the workers wear yellow colour uniforms and it's always crowded with people during lunch time. You can add yong tao fu yourself and pass them your choices. Their default side dishes are half a piece of boiled egg, some chicken meat, siham (clams) and some long beans in the curry. You can tell them which one you don't want. The price is around RM5 to RM6 depending on the side dishes of your choice.

This shop has been reviewed by some bloggers already. Give it a try. I will give it a 5/5 star! I'll definitely go there for the curry again one day.

I'm Hope

Tonight just went to Global Arts to teach the kids drawing. I was assigned to two sweet 5 years old little girls. One of them, Anthea, kept kissing me on my cheek and my hand. And she likes to grab my hand and hugged my hand like hugging at bolster, too. So cute! ^^ Another girl, Rhienne, acted a lot more matured than Anthea and is so sweet. Aww.. It's been long since I played with kids already. =)

Got one funny thing wanna share here.

Two days ago the person in charge of this Global Art branch, Ben, asked me to find an English name so that it's easier to be called by the kids. But I still think Heay sounds more familiar.

Teacher Heay. Nice right? The good thing about having name with weird spellings is that it can be used as English name. Heay Kong. Hehehe.. Sounds so special. =P Nobody would be named as Heay I guess..

But Ben suggested Teacher Hope coz my Chinese name means hope. =.="

Erm... Sounds weird lo.. Summore so hard to pronounce.

Sigh.. Teacher Hope. Goodness gracious! I didn't even know it's a name until I just checked it on Babynamesworld. =.="

Ok Zhuang, laugh all you want. I'm Hope. lol... At least it's a direct translate from my Chinese name. Nevermind lo.. I will try to accept this name lo. Haha....

But I wanna make it clear that Hope is just my name in Global Art yea. I won't entertain anyone calling me Hope outside Global Arts. I still like being called Heay. =P

My Starry Night

Yesterday was too depressed. So I decided to continue drawing the piece of Starry Night I started more than half a year ago.

I personally like Van Gogh's Starry Night because of the lines in the sky makes the sky looks like it's built from blocks of puzzles. And I like the large glow around the stars and the moon too.

Image

I've always wanted to imitate oil painting using crayon. Finally today I finished the drawing.

Image

Although my favourite part (the glow around the stars with white dash) could not be achieved using crayons, my tree at the front is way too big as compared with the original, and the curvy cloud in the sky is not as texturized as Van Gogh's, I still feel very satisfied with my drawing. =) Hey, I already more than 5 years never draw a proper drawing already le. This is consider very very successful.

Summore my dad was shocked when he saw this drawing. Hehe. My dad had never praised my drawing before in my whole life. This is the first time. For all my secondary school life I've been hoping dad to praise my drawings (my dad's an art tutor, so is my mum), but I've never get any from him. This time I gained it, I felt so honoured.

Tonight I might sleep smiling. =P

Nights. =)

Sunday blue

This is truly funny!

-

Went to swim for the first time after 3 months. The day was still early for me. It was 10am. Swam for 30 minutes non-stop for 700m.

Then after that went to eat Korean lunch at Dasarang, SS15 alone. Had Kimchi Deopbap (Fried kimchi pork with rice). It came in a set at RM16.90.

Image

The taste of the kimchi mixed well with the pork. But it's very very spicy and the amount was too big I had to waste some of the side dish that came along with the set. When I almost finished the meal my tongue was too painful from the spicy kimchi that I had to order a cup of green tea to sooth it.

The food was tasty. The drink was nice too. The swim was refreshing. The sunshine was cheerful. I was supposed to enjoy all these but it didn't cheer up my depressed mood. Too bad.

Maybe need more swim? Or Korean meal?

Weekend fun

Weekend was really relaxing and fun!

Stayed over at aunt's house, had good chats with Zhuang and Mei. Then this morning went to MidValley for speed shopping with them. I described it as speed shopping because we reached there at 10am and be back with our shopping bags at 12.30pm.

Played with make-ups with Zhuang and Mei for the whole afternoon. =P We shared lots of laughters. Being with them is always fun =)

We took quite a lot of photos too. Some are quite nice so I'm thinking of sharing it here la... =P

Image
Very hard to make-up with a single and a double eyelid lo. So this is the best I can get.. Noob, I know.. lol..

Image

Image
Zhuang took a photo of me when I was applying lip gloss

Then Zhuang suggested me to pout my lips for a sexy pose.

But, I think I look like a pissed off dumb ass instead. lol..

Thanks for the birthday treats =)

Had a blast before and during my birthday. =)

Last Sunday the girls pre-celebrated my birthday for me. We went to Alexis, Bangsar for dinner. I had Spaghetti carbonara, addicted to pasta already. lol.. The ambience was comfortable. The company was fun. We took a few photos but the photos are still with Get Pei. Hehe.. So cannot show here yet until she shares on Facebook. After the dinner, we went for some shopping at the boutiques nearby. Helped Audrey to look for dress for her friend's wedding.

I received a huge handbag from the girls as birthday present! Love it! Because it's white!

Image

-

During my birthday my colleagues celebrated for me at Secret Recipes. We had a 1kg Chocolate Indulgence too. I had Irish Lamb Stew. I'm very disappointed with the quality of the food. The texture feels like can food. The spaghetti there is much more better than the lamb.

I was busy eating the food. Forgot to take the photo of my lamb stew.

I only snapped a photo of Ain with her lasagna. Hehe..

Image

Anyway, despite the food, thanks for the company and the effort to celebrate with me! =)

Received a box of chocolate from my colleague from a Swiss chocolate company
Image

Image

Whoa! I love chocolates so much! These are too beautiful to be eaten. lol

-

After work, I had a 100% Korean style dinner with my Korean classmate, Alec, at Dasarang SS15. It was his treat. Really wanna thank him for introducing such nice food to me. I've dine in in Korean restaurant for 2 times before but never had I tasted such delicious ones. Maybe the previous one I didn't know how to order or the restaurants were not as good as Dasarang.

I didn't know he ordered this seaweed soup until the waiter served us. So touched! Coz Koreans eat seaweed soup on their birthdays. I feel totally like a Korean on my birthday!

Image

And the seasoned ribeye was perfect!
Image

Last time when I had BBQ beef in a Korean restaurant I didn't know the proper way of eating it. I just took the beef and stuff into my mouth.

The proper of eating the BBQ meat is:
1. Dip the meat in the chilli sauce called kojujang
2. Place the meat on the lettuce
3. Place a piece of cooked onion

Image

4. Finally wrap it and stuff into the mouth.

The ribeye was very juicy and it was well-seasoned. It tasted so sweet until when I drink the Kimchi soup I feel it was bitter.

Image

Despite the bitterness after having ribeye the Kimchi soup was nice! It has the special fermented taste in it. Very special. It's so so different from the taste of those instant Korean noodles!

Image
Alec also ordered fried glass noodles (炒冬粉). He said coz Chinese celebrate the birthday by eating fried glass noodle. Erm? Not rice noodle (面线) meh? Anyway, the portion of the fried glass noodle was too big. We could not finish it. Summore it's just so-so. Like normal fried mee only.

Image
Was so happy and touched with the tasty Korean meal. Smile until my dimple came out. lol.. I didn't know I have dimple! o.O"

When we couldn't finish the food on the table, Alec asked the waiter to serve me a piece of chocolate brownie from Starbucks. I almost fainted when I saw it coz I dun think my stomach can fit the cake lo...

Image
But this cake is so tasty that I finished it up without feeling like throwing up. lol. It's not very sweet, the taste of the sesame and mashmallow blends in the chocolate sponge cake and chocolate cream topping nicely. Tasted so much better than the chocolate indulgence from the Secret Recipe (I'm gonna stop eating Secret Recipes cakes already coz their standard had gone down so much)

It was an eye opener experience eating totally Korean-ish Korean meal. 고마워요~!

-

After dinner went to yamcha at Starbucks with Soon and chat chat chat non-stop. Thanks for the treat =) But was damn tired by then and almost fell asleep when chatting. lol..

Sorry girls for ruining your surprise plan for me that night but your intention had touched me already =)

One Sweet Day - 장연주

Presenting my all time favourite song. Also my current ringtone. =)

One Sweet Day by Jang Yeon Ju(장연주). Took very long time to find this song in Youtube because all I could find was One Sweet Day by Mariah Carey.

햇살이 파도처럼 부서지는 이 아침
두 눈 비비고 큰 기지개
오늘은 어제보다 이만큼 더 행복할 거야
One sweet day

부드런 바람은 니 손길 날 간지럽혀
향긋한 꽃 내음은 너의 향기
나를 웃게 하는 마법

난나나 난나나 나나 난나나 나나
everyday sweet day
상큼한 너의 입술이 나의 두 볼에 닿을 때처럼

싱그런 초록 잎이 반짝이는 이 거리
자전거타고 또 한바퀴
어쩌면 너 하나로 내 모든 게 달라졌을까
One fine day

지나는 사람들 나무들 모두 다 안녕
푸르른 하늘과 사랑하는 니가 있는 지금 좋아

난나나 난나나 나나 난나나 나나
everyday fine day
이렇게 너와 둘이서 멋진 오늘을 함께 할거야

한 걸음 한 걸음 다가 오나봐
눈이 시리게 높은 하늘만큼 너를 사랑해

난나나 난나나 나나 난나나 나나
everyday sweet day
상큼한 너의 입술이 나의 두 볼에 닿을 때처럼

난나나 난나나 나나 난나나 나나 좋은 일들만
꿈처럼 내게 다가온 너와 단 둘이
everyday sweet day

If I manage to memorize this song, I'll be really proud of myself. =)

Mooncake festival mood - 기분이 좋아예요 =)

Yesterday just sat for my Beginner 2 Korean Exam. I got 98% for this exam! Actually I think my speaking part has many grammar mistakes. But maybe because I instantly corrected it Kim Sonsengnim didn't deduct my marks I guess.

Now I finished Beginner 2, next stage will be Elementary 1. But currently need to save money for some maintenance fees for the car. So, I have to stop the Korean class for a while, maybe few months. Sigh.. I scare by that time I will forget every Korean words.

Is there any Korean friend wanna practice Korean with me? I can teach English in return. =P

Anyway, Korean Elementary 1 level will not start so soon. They will have to collect at least 6 applications before opening the next class. Last night, all of us sat there motionlessly in the class after sonsengnim informed us that we can leave the classroom. That Beginner 2 had ended. We are gonna miss her so much!

I broke the silence with 선생님,전화번호가좀주세요 (sonsengnim, chonhoabonhoga chumshuseyo). And then teacher corrected me that it should be 선생님,전화번호가몇번이에요? Alamak, even last sentence also say wrongly. That was learned in Beginner 1. =.="

-

I just finished the Korean drama 식객 (Sik gek/食客/The Grand Chef). It's a very nice drama talking about not forgetting the roots and humanity. =) Very inspiring drama.

After watching too many episodes of this drama, the instant noodle I cook also look different. lol...

From this vegetarian herb noodle
Image

I add some real herbs in and made the real herb noodle. It tasted sweet instead of the salty taste I first tried this soup! (I only added half packet of the seasoning powder)

Image
Summore go and arrange the herbs nicely on top. Had too much drama already. lol..

-

It's mooncake festival today! Can't wait to go for the gathering at my aunt's house. I miss the talking, tea drinking, mooncake tasting, candles and lanterns lighting, and the laughters. =)

Image
These are the mooncakes made by mum. Sigh. I want more mum's mooncake. =( This year only had one. Not enough...
