Jeremy Dale Hambly (born: April 12, 1983), known online as TheQuartering[1], is an American far-right[2] YouTube commentator who covers various political and drama content.
Content[]
The majority of Jeremy's content involves him reacting to political and popular culture news based on his viewpoint that various topics are negatively affected by 'woke' cultural influences. His original channel motto was "Get Woke, Go Broke" which referred to his view that media designed to appeal to "woke" crowds was driving away more numerous traditional audiences and fandoms, leading to companies losing money and good will received from long time patrons. Originally his videos focused heavily on hobbies, gaming, and comic books but over time this has shifted to primarily covering political, social commentary, and online drama related topics. At one point TheQuartering started a separate channel to host his more political videos called Midwestly though the channel went dormant after steadily declining views in late 2021 and has since been deleted with all political content migrating to his main channel.
Due to his outspoken right wing views on topics such as blanket bans on immigration[3], repealing women's voting rights[4], and his overwhelming political support of Donald Trump, many regard TheQuartering to be an anti-SJW and far-right content creator though he frequently rejects the titles of Conservative or right-wing and says he considers himself MAGA and claims outside of his economic views every position he holds is a liberal one[5][6]. TheQuartering is often criticized for his associations with other controversial anti-SJW and right-wing political Youtubers including Sargon of Akkad, who he was closely allied with early in his channel's history and continues to sporadically live stream with. He also cohosted a weekly podcast "The Incredible Salt Mine" AKA "TISM" with fellow Sargon associates Bearing and Count Dankula, though this show eventually became less frequent before being discontinued as of March 2023 after over 150 episodes.
Jeremy is known for his outspoken criticism of online censorship policies and his opposition to "woke cancel culture." Jeremy has defended other controversial Youtubers and streamers whose channels were at risk of banning or demonetization including America First with Nicholas J Fuentes, StevenCrowder, ImJayStation, Onision, Eight Thoughts, James Charles, and LeafyIsHere. Conversely Jeremy has often supported boycotts of companies and firing of employees who expressed "woke" views publicly, at one point even offering his viewers a promo code to a mobile app which advised users on "woke" companies to boycott which granted users a free trial[7]. Following the death of Conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, TheQuartering stated he was no longer a free speech absolutist and called for the deplatforming of several popular left leaning streamers including HasanAbi and Destiny claiming their online comments were directly responsible for Kirk's assassination[8].
The typical Quartering video consists of him reading articles, Twitter comments, or watching clips for the majority of the runtime with his opinions on the subject sprinkled throughout. Due to his outrageous video thumbnails sensationalist titles, extreme channel monetization, and incredibly high video output (sometimes peaking at over 150 videos in a month) many criticize his channel as low effort click bait. He is also frequently criticized for his slow delivery with many accusing him of artificially extending the run time of his videos (as video length affects monetization). He is also frequently accused of grifting his audience, due in part to his constant rallying cry of his channel or brand being "under attack" followed by asking his fans for direct financial support despite already being objectively wealthy. Quartering has responded to these accusations by making "my channel is under attack" an inside joke among his fan base and openly talking about how he is a "huge grifter." [9]
In 2024 TheQuartering began his "Quartercast" livestream Monday-Friday on Rumble as part of a deal he worked out with the platform. He has since moved this podcast to a new Youtube channel called "Quarteringlive." In 2025 he was added to the Rumble Livestream lineup at the 2PM EST slot currently streaming between Devory Darkins and Russell Brand's live shows [10]. His regular cohosts for the show include Luke Rudkowski, Hannah Claire (formally a cohost of Tim Pool's show), and Melonie Mac Gaming Streams. Former hosts include Gothix, who left to pursue other collaborations, and Styxhexenhammer666 who was fired after passing out drunk on air during a scheduled live stream [11].
History[]
Prior to starting "TheQuartering" channel Jeremy Dale Hambly ran several other Youtube channels. His first channel "BeYourOwnIT" was focused on computer repair advice with Hambly also selling mail order CD-Roms which could guide users through repairing common computer issues. He sold this channel to a computer repair firm and used the money to fund future Youtube channels based around his personal hobbies including "RC Nightmare" a RC car hobby channel, "ClawStruck" which focused on arcade claw and prize machines, and "MTG Headquarters" a Magic the Gathering channel which was later rebranded to "Unsleeved Media" after his lifetime ban from Magic for harassment. His current TheQuartering channel was started in the period shortly before his ban from Magic the Gathering as a side project to appeal to his new fans and their interest in "anti-woke" gaming content. After his ban he moved the majority of his content to the Quartering channel. Over the years he has occasionally uploaded new content to the Unsleeved Media and RC Nightmare channels. In 2025 he build a one acre RC track course in his back yard which cost over $10,000 and was featured on his RC Nightmare channel.[12]
In early 2023 TheQuartering started a weekly livestreamed podcast with Sydney Watson which was eventually given the title CommunityNotes. Initially it was hosted on the main TheQuartering channel before creating a separate channel under the CommunityNotes name on January 24, 2023.[13] As of August 2023 new episodes of the podcast stopped with Sydney claiming she is busy running ThePublica, a news website the duo started together in March of 2023. The Publica website went defunct in 2024 and Sydney Watson ceased collaboration with TheQuartering. In 2025 Quartering revealed the two had a falling out over her making accusations about him in a private chat group and her refusal to pay back any of the quarter million dollars he fronted to run ThePublica. [14] The CommunityNotes channel has since been deleted.
Personal Life[]
Jeremy lives in Richfield, Wisconsin. He has a twin sister and his father was a union factory worker who he credits for his work ethic, claiming he has been working full time since age 13 and often works 100 hour weeks [15] [16]. He has described his upbringing as unconventional due to having "three gay dads two of which are black" which he often talks about in his videos and on Twitter [17]. Jeremy announced to his channel that his biological father passed away in 2023. Jeremy is married and has been together with his wife since high school. He has a Master's degree in internet marketing and was owner/operator of an internet marketing firm unrelated to his Youtube channels though it is no longer active. He is an avid collector of vintage video games and owns a full arcade housed in his basement opposite the studio space where he records his videos [18]. Jeremy also runs a coffee company called Coffee Brand Coffee which he frequently advertises in his own videos and livestreams. Following the death of Charlie Kirk, Quartering announced he was going to church and is now a born again Christian after being atheist since his teens[19].
Controversies[]
Crowdfunding[]
In 2015 Jeremy raised $30,000 for an app called GameFindr, which was billed as an app for finding gamers in your area for TCG, board, and video games. The app was criticized for not being available on iPhone and bugs that made it incompatible with newer versions of Android devices.
In 2018 Jeremy started a crowdfund that raised over $6000 for a game store that was sanctioned by Magic the Gathering for allegedly hosting a hostile environment in violation of their tournament guidelines and banned from hosting sanctioned events. The company cited the hanging of a Kekistan flag and a modified version of the official required "safe gaming space" flyer which stated the store wasn't a "safe space." The ban over hosting sanctioned events was later lifted though it's unclear what concessions were made by either side.
In 2018 TheQuartering crowdfunded over $34,000 to cover a lawsuit related to an assault on him while he was at a bar outside the GenCon gaming convention. The lawsuit was eventually settled out of court with the attacker forced to issue a public apology. Jeremy pointed to statements made by the attacker on social media to indicate the assault was an act of politically motivated violence. It was later revealed that Jeremy had insulted the attacker on Twitter saying he "did some horrible things to young boys" though obviously not as a serious accusation. It remains unclear what role that interaction played in the assault if any. Jeremy and the attacker were both banned from GenCon following the assault though the exact reasons for Jeremy's ban was never publicly disclosed.
In December 2018 TheQuartering crowdfunded $159,000 for a site called "Exclusively Games" which was billed as a politics-free place for gaming news and reviews. Due to his controversial past and outspoken political views he stated he would stay out of the day-to-day operations of the site. The site raised another $53,000 via crowdfunding in July 2019 as well as monthly donations via Subscribestar that peaked at over $1000 a month. The site was shut down citing financial concerns in May 2020.
Jack Murphy[]
In late 2021, manosphere personality and life coach Jack Murphy appeared on the livestream show "You Are Here" for an interview with Sydney Watson and Elijah Schaffer which became contentious after a tough line of questioning. Jack became very combative towards Sydney after she read a super chat with many criticizing the way he acted. Following the stream he issued a statement on Twitter however many associates of Watson were sent embarrassing details about Murphy online and proceeded to publish those highlighting how they contrasted with Murphy's public persona heavily based in traditional masculinity. TheQuartering was the largest channel engaging in this public shaming of Murphy and attracted the majority of the attention surrounding this. Though initially most were supportive of exposing Murphy for questionable behavior that clashed with his public image, hypocritical statements, and possible financial crimes, however many criticized what became personal attacks from TheQuartering. At one point TheQuartering was sent amateur pornography Murphy had made with his wife for a porn site and posted screenshots of the explicit video uncensored to his Twitter account. He also posted many photos of Jack engaged in explicit acts and penetrating himself with a sex toy. Eventually Twitter suspended Quartering's Twitter account temporarily for posting revenge porn of Jack Murphy and his wife, shortly after this Murphy would delete most of his social media accounts, which caused the controversy to die down.[20]
Neo-Nazi allegations[]
In September 2023 Quartering began running ads for Antelope Hill Publishing. It was quickly revealed that Antelope Hill is a neo-Nazi book publisher and the owners had extensive ties to various far-right hate groups and had appeared on several hard right podcasts expressing racist views[21]. The publisher itself was shown to have a yearly celebration of Hitler's birthday with a sale of selected Nazi books with discount code "birthday boy." At first Quartering declared during a live stream that he didn't even look into sponsors and had no idea what the publisher was about. He claimed that any sponsor that paid above his minimum amount he would automatically accept, no questions asked. Later during a different livestream of his critics discussing the controversial sponsorship Quartering appeared in the live chat and vowed to run the sponsor again, though it is unclear at this time if he actually intends to follow through on that [22].
In mid-2023 Quartering began running ads for a gold IRA program Goldco through his own URL QuarteringGold.com which received much criticism primarily from his own fans. Goldco is one of several gold IRA programs flagged as scams that prey on Conservative news network viewers. Essentially gold IRA scams encourage people to convert their IRA to physical gold and silver, though the gold and silver sold is not standard bars but bespoke coins which are often marked up in excess of double the actual value of the underlying precious metals, so immediately upon conversion someone who converts their IRA to gold and silver via these programs could be down over half of their retirement savings with the service pocketing the difference.[23]
One of the top posts on r/TheQuarteringIsANazi is titled "Yikes"[24] and shows 2 of his tweets: one where TheQuartering replies to someone posting "Fuck Hitler." with "aaaaand there we have it... YIKES..."[24] The second one is of TheQuartering replying to someone posting "Replying to TheQuartering - you unironically leap to defend Hitler you have no right to be YIKES'ing anybody, turd" with "He [Hitler] was nominated for a noble peace prize. - What the fuck have you ever done?".[24]
White Label Coffee company[]
On October 22, 2020, a subreddit called r/TheQuarteringIsANazi was created which claims to be "Documenting and mocking a bigoted neckbeard grifter for his transphobic and racist takes".[25] In 2023, the forum posted evidence that Quartering's coffee company Coffee Brand Coffee did not roast their own coffee, as the Quartering often claimed in ads. A video showed Quartering's coffee roasting operation were shot at Millcreek Roaster's Coffee in Salt Lake City, Utah using their employees and facility, this company ran a "white label" service where they brew coffee for other companies to sell as their own product with their own bags and branding. In addition Millcreek engaged in many of the progressive and leftist things that TheQuartering often hates on in his videos such as supporting the BLM movement, LGBT rights, and promoting DEI employment practices.[26]
The coffee company was also registered several miles from this roaster and over 1000 miles from his home state of Wisconsin. After this was revealed publicly TheQuartering quickly re-registered the company at a virtual office in Milwuakee then made several videos claiming the subreddit apparently lied about his coffee and also falsely reported him for running an illegal lottery as part of a coffee promotion where he promised to stuff unspecified amounts of cash in random coffee orders. He further claimed that he convinced DEA special agents to investigate users on the subreddit before encouraging his fans to repeatedly report the subreddit and buy his coffee to support him.[27] Quartering posted several times on the subreddit claiming the users were making him more money by talking about him before ultimately moving on when the subreddit takeover attempt failed.[28]
