DeMartino spares no detail in his latest unabridged scholarly work which encompasses several different regimes of facts that stand united as an indisputable confutation of statism. Long has the state been regarded as an inexorable institution of the human condition, though DeMartino makes quick work of several foundational premises; the public goods thesis as the rational, secular case for statism is picked apart on multiple fronts, as its premises reliant on non-excludability and non-rivalrous production are dispatched with examples of actionable externalities, the general navigation of externalities like in the case of loss factor, and the employment of simple economic logic which relays the states primary intellectual justification as antiquated at best and inherently flawed at worse. Finally, DeMartino provides ways in which the private provision of so called public goods can and have been provided.
In addition to this DeMartino exposes how the states tax financing and approval regimes make life categorically more expensive, alongside confronting the many grievances laid at the feet of capitalism to not be the fault of the market at all but in one way or another the result of state meddling. This book is a must read for libertarians of all ages and those curious as to the nature of political economy. Be warned though, once you learn about how much of a parasite the state really is, you'll never be able to see the world the same way again.

Jason DeMartino is one of the brightest minds and vocal proponents of Austrian economics of his generation. Well researched and documented. He states (pun intended) his case with accuracy and facts. A must read primer for all Libertarians and would be “AnCapistanies.” Dense and Rich with Facts.
