ActionSkills has been providing essential hosting and website maintenance for activist and community groups for over 17 years.

Problem

So many grassroots change-makers are stretched thin doing everything from fundraising to frontline work with next to no resources. Some groups don’t have the time or digital know-how to manage their websites and online presence.

Solution

All of these services we provide free to these amazing groups, as we believe it to be of vital support:

1. Purchase Australian commercial grade wholesale hosting
2. Provide FREE hosting and management for grassroots groups

Additionally

1. Implement security and backups systems
2. Weekly maintenance and management under our care plan system
3. Training and mentoring
4. Production of pro-bono websites and tech support

Your help

We run an annual crowd-funder to cover:

• The cost of the wholesale hosting
• The cost of various domain names (managed on behalf of numerous groups)
• The costs of auditing our security guide
• Any funds raised beyond our core costs will go directly toward subsidising our pro-bono work, allowing us to support more community groups in need

Digital security guide updates

Our guide was produced for beginners and non-technical people with the aim of increasing security across our whole community.

Part of this crowd-funder funds the technical audit of our recommend applications which require regular updating. This work is done by First Nations insurgent/investigative journalist and safe witness journalism security expert Nick Chesterfield at Manukoreri.net. (Nicks own medical crowdfunder and his funder for the repairs of his vehicle sabotaged by arms dealers)
