Biography

Allison Lovee is the founder of Gough Street Music Garden, a Baltimore-based studio for private lessons in piano, composition, strings, and more. In her 16 years of experience as a professional musician, Allison has attended notable institutions like the Peabody Institute and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and has premiered original works across the US and Europe.

With a background primarily in piano and composition, Allison combines her training with a passion for history and music theory to provide well-rounded musical educations for her students. She takes inspiration from the kind, open-minded, and dedicated teachers in her life, believing that the learning experience should a joyful one.

Allison’s current musical projects include producing her first full-length songwriting album and arrangement commissions. Noteworthy original works include “revel,” written for the Peabody Symphony Orchestra as part of their celebration of 150 years of Composition at Peabody, her song cycle “Believe Me, Folks: Ten Songs for a Mad President” and her piece “Three Short Pieces for String Quartet,” which won her the International Music Festival of the Adriatic’s Duino Prize for composition.
