Got the reel today. I will admit, I’ve seen this brand’s reels and poles and I’ve been skeptical, assuming it’s Chinese garbage like so many things are. That said, I can admit when I was wrong.

I purchased the 1000 reel, and right out of the box, I was impressed with the quality. I am - or can be - a bit of a snob about gear, especially something as important as a reel.

So, I loaded up some line and took it to my local fishing hole and figured I’d put it to the test immediately. And I must say, this thing performed wonderfully! I caught a few mid sized trout, and it just worked.

The drag was great, actually. Far better than I expected given the specs. The feel is solid and well built, and the retrieve is so quiet, even with a fish on, that I could hardly hear it at all.

I’ll be blunt - I have reels that are 5x or more the cost of this reel - and this thing performs as well as any of those. The value here is outstanding. For a 1000 reel it’s a little big. But outside of that, I can find no flaw. After fishing, I dissected it and everything looks quite good. I don’t see all the bearings as advertised though…

Are there better reels? Sure there are. Are their reels that look cooler? Yep. Bottom line is, this is a very good reel. Better than most and a price that’s beyond fair for what you’re getting. If it said “Shimano” or “Lew’s” on the side people would be singing its praises and talking about how great it is. I’m a big fan of Okuma, and just being honest, this reel is better than every Okuma reel I have. I’m kind of shocked, actually.

Overall a safe purchase and one you can feel confident with. I’ll update once we get some windy days and more fish caught on it. But, from what I see, initially, I’m really impressed.

This is my 7th reel. I've had zero issues with all 4 of them. I use them for trout fishing,using 4-6lb mono. I do recommend making sure all the screws are tight and greasing and oiling before use. Because I have had loose screws right out of the box and they don't seem to be greased and oiled well from factory. Other than that great reels for the money and I'll keep buying them

For the price this thing works fantastic. It reels smoother than some of my more expensive reels. Although I don't use it as consistently as some of my other reels, when I do use it this reel works flawlessly. You cant beat the price-performance ratio.

Still going strong after a year’s minimal/infrequent use in salt water. Out the box very smooth with sufficient build. Never dropped so not sure on internal mechanism durability but works for me for an inexpensive reel.

I wouldn't even say for the price this reel is fantastic. I've fished many higer end reels

from ABU Garcia to Daiwa to Shimano and I hate to admit, I've been wasting my money. These reels are fantastic! I now have 3 spinning reels and a fly reel from this company. The only downside I can mention is the finish isn't as durable as the main brands. If you're looking for a relatively cheap fishing reel I would highly consider trying these out.

The reel is buttery smooth out of the box but they are advertising 12+1 bearings, and having taken apart the reel idk where all those bearings would be 🤣

I have been using the reel for a few months and I have enjoyed it and have landed quite a few bass with the largest being 16" and a catfish yesterday that was nearly 7lbs.

My issues started yesterday when the reel started squeeking. I assumed it just needed some oil and I kept fishing. I noticed when I got my catfish on that I couldn't hear any drag going out.

Today I took the reel apart, cleaned it, and lubed it, only to realize that the drag ratchet in the spool is GONE.

What the heck... did the reel just... eat it? It was running a little crappy, idk.

Anyways, I lubed it up and installed the second spool that it came with.

At the end of the day it isnt bad for the price but people will buy it because they see "12+1 bearings" or whatever, as compared to similar priced name brands that have 1-3 bearings. I think in the long run you would be better with the name brand option, even if it doesnt look as "cool". I dont regret the purchase but I dont intend to buy again. Its not worth having a reel fail while a fish is on the hook.
