I've had this controller for a few weeks and I really like it! It feels good to hold and use, and the app for personalised settings is functional. At first I thought the vibration was lacklustre until I realised it needed a driver update, and afterwards it was a lot better. It's nothing special but that's not a big deal to me.

The usb c port is inset meaning not every cable will fit, which I guess is annoying but the cable it comes with is good quality (braided) and long (3m), plus it's not wiggly when connected.

Compared to the GameSir G7 HE which I bought originally, the D-pad feels WAAAY better to press and doesn't require nearly as much force. I have no idea why the HE was designed like that but the SE's d-pad's perfect as far as I'm concerned. It's just regular membrane, not clicky, but that's good enough for me.

I bought this mainly for the hall effect joysticks, and so far they haven't let me down. They're nice and responsive, and feel a lot like the PS5 controller.

I haven't made use of the extra back buttons, but they are there and don't get in the way of gameplay, especially since they can be disabled with the switches.

Overall, really solid controller for a reasonable price!

I literally just got this controller, I've only used it for about 15 minutes and I can already tell it's a great controller for Xbox One/Series and for Windows PCs as well. It's very comfortable to hold and has a really nice weight too it even though it has no batteries. The buttons all feel good, about the same as an OEM Xbox controller. The dpad feels good, better than an OEM Xbox controller for sure. The sticks feel phenomenal to use. I have other Hall Effect controllers but this one just feels better. I'm sure that's mostly because of the anti friction rings, but the tension of the sticks feels perfect as well. I also really like the removable faceplate as it makes it a tool free job to replace the plastic thumbsticks if needed one day. The back buttons are also nice and in a comfortable spot.

The software is also pretty decent. You can setup profiles, map the back buttons, change the stick range and deadzone etc etc. This is also where you can update the controller firmware. No complaints here.

With all that said I do have some minor complaints. To start, it's not wireless. Obliviously I knew that before buying it, but if it was wireless I'd probably buy 4 of these. Also the USB C connector is recessed into the controller. On one hand that makes it feel very sturdy when it's connected. However, it also means not every USB C cable will work with this. I have some that do and some that are too big to go into the hole around the port. Lastly, the 3.5mm audio jack has a bit of added noise when using it, like a hum or hiss kind of noise. I don't think it's that bad, especially as I use other devices for my headset on PC anyways, and when sound is playing I can't hear this noise anymore. However it's still worth noting and if it affects all of these controllers I could see it bothering someone more than it bothers me.

As a side note/extra, this controller also works with the Brook Wingman XB. This allows the controller to also work on the Xbox 360 and the Original Xbox. I also tested it with the Mayflash Magic-NS and works with that as well, meaning you could use this on the Switch as well.

Overall I'm really happy with this. If something happens I'll update this review but for now this is a really great controller. Other than being wired this is probably the best controller you can buy for Xbox, and a very good controller for PC.

I prefer this over my Battle Beaver honestly - thumbs and triggers are smooth and responsive. Never have to worry about charging again 😉

Great controller i mean where do i start, the feeling of joysticks is nice you might not notice it at first but after using it i cant go back to a regular it just feels like something is missing. I hated playing cod cuz i needed an elite controller but this is way better when u get used to it which is about a week i would say. The paddles are nice and comfortable in a good spot, it feels really good clicking the joysticks in i usually am scared to do that due to creating stick drift but with these i can comfortably spam click them and it feels good to click it in too (pause). Magnetic face plate is good to have very nice for taking off and cleaning if needed. I love how you can also remap any button to any other button including the 2 paddles this is very helpful. I used to use 3 paddles on elite cuz 4 was too much but i can manage with 2 paddles now that cod has auto sprint feature on so i dont need a paddle just to click my LS in to sprint. The only little issue i have is the start and select buttons are higher than on normal controller and takes a bit of getting used to but after a week or so should be fine, just push past the week!

what’s not to like about the GameSir,

It can reach 1000 Hz, Hall Effect joysticks, Swappable face plate (Which I custom designed) The cord is long and won’t fray. The joysticks themselves are comfortable on the fingers, The buttons Are responsive, The custom up button on the audio jack is a great quality of life update to Xbox controllers.

There’s lots to love.

I do want to mention some tips, I do not see anyone talking about this anywhere so I’d like to help people who have this question

How do I get 1000hz?

A: To get 1000 Hz you need to plug the controller into your PC. Download the game sir app and adjust the Hertz there. Then plug it back in to your Xbox Open the app there and make sure you’re on the same profile that you were on your PC. There you should have 1000hz, It will say something alone the lines off “to change the Hz plug into PC” That’s how you’ll know you’re reaching 1k Hz.

My Kontrol Freeks don’t fit?

A: The reason being your control freaks do not fit is because these specific joysticks require PS control freaks, Make sure to buy those instead of Xbox ones as the Xbox ones will not fit.

How do I customize my faceplate?

A: What I did to customize it was removed the face plate, sand it all down, Use Posca Paint markers for designing, Then seal it with a clearcoat or a glossy coat your choice, Make sure you’re in a open room with windows open When doing so or do it outside, It should be fully dried in 12 to 16 hours, For results wait 24 hours.

Is is worth it?

A: I don’t know do you want to keep spending money on a controller for the rest of your life? or do you want a controller that will never get stick drift, insanely responsive, fully customizable with other great features, Just by the damn controller man trust me.

After a year the controller constantly disconnects randomly. The seller was responsive to me when I reached out, but the only solution was for me to pay to ship it to the USA and then they ship a new one from the warehouse, which would have been subjected to import fees. Not interested in paying more money for a replacement as I suspect it will have the same issues.

This controller is very well built and I am a massive fan of the PC software, however, the mechanical face button do let this controller down.

1. Build quality is very good! I love the shape and the feel of the sticks, the feel very durable and robust.

2. Speaking of durability, due to the hall effect triggers and sticks, they will have zero stick drift forever and you'll never have to buy another controller unless something really bad and damaging happens.

3. For features you have the app that lets you remap every button on the controller and add any software dead zones that you wish to have. Another amazing feature that I love you can disable the back buttons by flicking its respective switch. It's a very useful feature when switching from game to game.

My final thoughts are I would 100% recommend this to a PC player or a desk XBOX player, so the wire reaches them very easily, for those who play on TVs and sit far back, I can't recommend it as the wire does get very frustrating but aside that, this is a fantastic product that also gives you one month of XBOX game pass!!

2nd update: So i have now been through 3 of these controllers. 1 G7se and 2 G7’s. While they are great when they work, unfortunately i have had issues with all 3 of mine causing me to send them back within days-weeks. Since they have all broken under the 30 day return it hasn’t been a huge deal but honestly im getting sick of returning these things. QC is definitely not gamsir’s strong point. If your ok with taking the gamble on whether you get a good one id still say they are nice controllers but if possible multiple returns/exchanges does not sound fun too you id look at getting something else

Update: After only a few weeks the left trigger started sticking on me causing it to register as a press even when i wasn't touching it, while it is technically fixable by adding more deadzone in the software i dont feel thats something i should have to do this early into using this controller. Hoping its just a faulty controller i got as ill probably be reordering a new one.

If your ok with a wired controller this thing is better then the official xbox controller in almost every way imo.

Pros: hall effect sticks with great grippy thumb caps and anti friction rings, programmable back buttons, awesome software with lots of customization options, and comfort/build quality that feels just as good or in some cases better then the official controller

Cons: triggers could have a bit more resistance to them, and personally i find the bumpers to be a bit to mushy feeling compared to a official control.

Overall great value for the money! Personally i like the feel of the membrane d pad and abxy buttons but i can see why some would prefer mechanical buttons. Time will tell how it holds up but so far I've had zero issues. Ill update my review if there are any changes

これは本当にすごい。耐久性はまだ未知数ですが、動作は完全にリニアで一切ドリフトがありません。1ドットも動かない精度で、当たりを引いたのか、それともこれが標準なのか驚いています。耐久性に変化が出たら追記予定です。 あとシェル含めてチープ感は凄いのですが性能はエリコン2のはるか上という謎製品。

ただし格闘ゲームでは全く使い物にならない点は要注意。十字キーはFPS用途なら悪くなく、固めの感触で誤操作しにくいです。

さらにゲームパスの特典も意外と豪華。完成度を考えると、将来的にPROモデル買ってもいいかもしれない。唯一の難点は、Xbox純正コントローラーとスティックサイズが異なるため、アタッチメントの互換性がないことです。一部無理やりつけられるのもありますが故障する可能性があるので非推奨です。なぜここを変えたのか不明です、シェルの大きさも純正から乗り換えるのには違和感が少しあります。

Cela fait bientôt un an que j’utilise cette manette GameSir G7 SE et elle est toujours nickel.

Aucun stick drift, les joysticks répondent parfaitement comme au premier jour.

La prise en main est très agréable, on sent tout de suite que la manette est bien pensée. Les matériaux sont solides, rien ne fait cheap, elle inspire confiance et durabilité.

Je l’utilise exclusivement sur PC et je n’ai rencontré aucun problème de compatibilité ou de reconnaissance : elle est branchée, elle fonctionne.

Franchement, pour un prix inférieur à une manette officielle, le rapport qualité/prix est excellent.

Une très belle surprise que je recommande sans hésiter.

Gamepad is good but i tried using gamepass that i got with it, i know i orderd 2 months ago. but i didnt use that gamepass. I conntacted Xbox support and they told me that I didnt use it on any of my accounts and that i should conntact the store, i conntacted amazon and they told me i that there wasnt anything about gamepass. and now i dont have 1moth free gamepass, idk what to do i'll try to conntact gamesir but i dont think this will do much

Brilliant controller. Much better than the manufacturers controller. Definitely recommended
