Review

"I rarely if ever write reviews, but I couldn't not try to put into some words how much I loved these books. I read them so quickly, stayed up well past my bedtime enraptured with ark and nava. I love her stubborn steadfastness and determination for her mate. The lengths they will go for one another know no bounds. Their relationship is different obviously from the first book but I still enjoy every second they have with one another. I felt every heart ache they did and every high too. Thank you abbey for this series and I truly cannot wait to read the next one! And will hit pre order as soon as it pops up with the utmost enthusiasm!" -- Amazon Reviewer

"The story picks up swiftly from the first book with some gentle memory refreshers and then it's all go! I adored the soulmates theory from the earlier book, and the angst our beautiful Nava and Arkimedes go through in this instalment is unreal.
I don't like to give spoilers at all in reviews but let me say there is a lot of slow burn going on as they try to find a way to get their minds and souls back in sync, that slow burn results in
one of the most delicious and steamy scenes I have read in a long time!

The world building is top notch, the characters deep and likeable, everything just feels rich and so well thought out, it's a book you can utterly sink into. The ending left me desperate to know more and I will be first in line for part three!

Awesome characters
I really enjoyed this second book in Abbey’s The Wicked Kingdom series. It starts off with a big surprise (unless you read the blurb/synopsis 😂) and pulls you in right away. I love the magic system in this series. It’s so cool and unique. In this book we learn more about the MMC’s background and about his magic. He is a winged shadow daddy with broody, tortured hero vibes and I’m all for that 😂. There is delicious tension and spice in this one but also lots of heartache and struggle. One thing that really frustrated me about this book is the lack of communication between the characters. It drives me crazy when the characters can just say the truth to solve some problems and they… don’t 🙃. With that said, I loved the character development (especially with one side character) and the story overall. I am really looking forward to reading the final book in the series to see how it all ends. I recommend this series if you enjoy: ✨unique magic system ✨mystery and prophecy ✨memory loss/regaining memories ✨soul mates ✨she saves him

This book starts right away and throws you into a conflict that leaves you speechless.

I hated the memory loss, I got a little frustrated with Arkimedes and the whole miscommunication thing arrghhhh... But each POV shows each character's perspective and conflicts with what's going on so well that it was worth the struggle.

The magic system is unique and the book is full of twists and turns, it was very fun and action packed. I would have liked Ari more in this book, but the moments in which he appears are priceless.

    That ending OMG!

Even though Arkimedes' background was an unexpected twist, by the end of the book, you get used to it. Nava becoming a badass in the process doesn't hurt either. Even Devon's sidekick role is needed.

Absolutely love this series, both books have really sucked me into this magic world with love and adventure. Constantly kept on my toes, despite reading hundreds of different books from Amazon! Truly, I love this series. I can’t wait for more, I really hope it’s soon

Writing was good but three stars for the story line. We can’t have a moment of happiness? Seriously? And then this whole “I don’t want my memories back”. Taking characters and 180ing their personalities drives me mad. I hoped the ending of this book would be something sweet like the first one, but it was just disappointing.

Personally I think the addition of Devon was beneficial. The first book seemed a bit two dimensional just going back and forth between FMC and MMC for the majority of the story. This book added a bit more depth and rounded out characters and some ideas. Which made it more enjoyable.

Angst! Definetly read the first book then this one. It's the "how is it going to happen" and the "when will it happen" that prevents you from putting the book down. Great escape on a night you need to wind down and be somewhere else but reality.

Better than the first book, this had more angst and drama and was better paced. Hats off to Nava for never loosing her determination where Ark was considered.

I loved the direction the story took. It was unexpected and executed very well. I loved Devon so much in this book. It’s really difficult to make a villain in to a positive character but in this book it was done well. I just hope he stays positive.

There is still so many things to resolve and looking forward to it.

—not standalone (why is every romantasy trilogy or series😩)

    —intrigue, court politics, unknown danger.
