Purchase options and add-ons
From USA Today bestselling author Lauren Palphreyman comes the highly anticipated sequel to The Wolf King, a romantasy for fans of enemies to lovers, shifters, forbidden romance, villains you love to hate (or maybe just love!), and werewolves.
"Let me have you. Just once. Please."
Aurora is caught between powerful alphas as they fight for the Wolf Throne. But darker forces are rising...
Aurora may have survived the Wolf King, but his bite marks her skin. In accordance with wolf law, that makes her his property. Now, he wants her back.
To beat him and take his throne, Aurora and Callum must form a dangerous alliance with one of the most feared Wolves in the Kingdom, Blake. He is their enemy, but he has entangled his life with Aurora's―meaning she cannot harm him without forfeiting her own life.
As she fights to break their connection, she suspects Blake is keeping secrets about a dark power that rises in the north, and the unsettling nature of the bond between them. It seems there is a bigger game at play than who sits on the Wolf Throne―one that threatens both the Kingdom of Wolves, and the Kingdom of Men.
With her wolf awakening, enemies closing in, relationships tested, and secrets revealed―Aurora may be the only one who can stop an ancient evil from rising.
If she can figure out who to trust.
If she can figure out where she, and her heart, belong.
If she can stay alive.

Praise for The Wolf King:
"Had to read it twice, it was so good!" ― Amazon review
"If Outlander and a werewolf pack had a love child, this book would be it. If you want a book that's got just enough magic, a soft but strong heroine, alpha energy without the cringe, Scottish werewolves, kilts, vibes, emotional depth, fun narration and a plot that keeps moving, this is the one." ― Goodreads review
"Masterfully balances suspense, passion, and character development, all wrapped up in a captivating paranormal romance setting." ― Amazon review
"If you're into werewolf romances or fantasy and are looking for something fast paced & exciting, this is it." ― Goodreads review

About the Author
Lauren Palphreyman is an Amazon bestselling romantasy author. She likes to write strong and complicated men who respect women, women who can be soft as well as fierce, and romantasy tropes with a twist.
A proud indie author, she is best known for THE WOLF KING, which has been described as werewolves meets Outlander, has over 20k ratings on Amazon, and was recently acquired in a multibook audiobook deal with Simon & Schuster. Book two, THE NIGHT PRINCE is out now!
She got her start by writing serial fiction online, and you might also know her from her mythological paranormal series, CUPID’S MATCH, which was one of the top stories on Wattpad, garnered over 70 million ‘reads’ online, and was adapted into a digital pilot for The CW (unfortunately we didn’t get the full series!).
A Yorkshire girl at heart, she now lives in Surrey with her partner and their mischievous cockapoo – who steals far too much of her attention (and socks) while she’s trying to write!

A Dark, Addictive Fantasy Romance Full of Tension and Twists
Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2026⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Dark, Addictive Fantasy Romance Full of Tension and Twists
The Night Prince is an intoxicating blend of tension, obsession, and dark romance that pulled me in from the very first chapter. The love triangle is sharp and emotionally charged, filled with stolen moments, impossible choices, and a constant undercurrent of longing that keeps the stakes high. The chemistry between the characters is intense, and every interaction feels like it could tip the entire story into chaos.
What really sets this book apart is the intricate web of secrets and deception woven throughout the plot. Trust is fragile, motives are layered, and just when you think you understand the truth, another revelation shifts everything. The story isn’t afraid to explore morally gray territory, and those darker elements only heighten the emotional impact.
Lauren Palphreyma delivers a gripping, seductive read packed with angst, betrayal, and dangerous desire. It’s the kind of book that keeps you turning pages late into the night, eager to see how far the darkness will reach—and who will make it out.
Fans of ACOTAR and ACOMAF will find a lot to love here. Just note that this is an unfinished series, with the next installment scheduled for release in September 2026.

**I am 1000% team Blake! (And obsessed with this world)**
Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2026While Callum kept me completely hooked in book one, *The Night Prince* completely shifted my allegiance. In this installment, I was entirely consumed by Blake. He is the ultimate enigmatic Alpha, and the mystery surrounding him absolutely screams "shadow daddy."
Yep! Team Blake 1000%.
Morally grey MMCs are my absolute weakness, and Blake delivers on that front flawlessly. He is hands-down the best part of this book, and my need to unwrap his secrets is what kept my eyes glued to the pages.
If you are considering how to consume this story, **I highly recommend the audiobook**. The narration is absolutely amazing, and the male voice actors sell the characters' distinct personalities perfectly. They brought Blake and the rest of the cast to life in a way that made the experience so much more immersive.
Speaking of incredible world-building, I am still incredibly impressed by the werewolf lore in this book. As an avid reader of Romantasy and werewolf romance, it takes a lot to surprise me, but this Scottish-inspired take on wolves is so refreshing—and honestly, who doesn’t love listening to Shane East and Sean Masters speak in a Scottish lilt? The mythology of the God of Night holding the Moon Goddess captive, combined with the strict, fascinating limitations placed on the wolves' shifting abilities, feels entirely fresh and original.
That being said, the execution wasn't completely perfect for me. The heroine, Aurora, drove me a little bonkers at times. Her repetitive inner monologues and circular trains of thought became a bit off-putting. There were a few moments where I actually had to put the audio on pause and step away just to take a break from her headspace.
However, my obsession with Blake, the incredible narration, and the gripping world-building always pulled me right back in. I simply *had* to know more.
Needless to say, I already have the release date for book three marked on my calendar! Plus, now that a TV adaptation is officially in the works, I am more invested in this universe than ever. Bring on the next book!

AMAZING!
Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2026“ʟᴇᴛ ᴍᴇ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ʏᴏᴜ. ᴊᴜsᴛ ᴏɴᴄᴇ. ᴘʟᴇᴀsᴇ.”
The chokehold this series has me in is insane. I did an immersive read (tandem audio/eyeball reading) and could LITERALLY not put the book down. I am obsessed with these characters & this world. I'm so torn on which team I am (IYKYK).
This series has everything I want in a romantasy: enemies-to-lovers tension, touch her & ☠️ vibes, forbidden love, political intrigue, and just the right amount of spice to keep the story sizzling. The plot and pacing flows so effortlessly that I flew through it, completely wrapped up in the magic of the world and its characters. The story is filled with an intense and vivid setting, and so many jaw dropping moments that left me on edge with every twist. The world-building is intricate yet not overwhelming and the romance is perfectly woven in. The chemistry between all of the MCs was straight up electric!!!!
So much happened in this sequel and there are still so many questions that I have. I can't wait to see where their relationship goes with all the obstacles and foreshadowing that are coming with the next book! I have sooo many theories!!! This book will be living rent free in my brain for a long time and I’m feral for the next book!

4.5⭐️ Sequel!
Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2026#TeamBlake
The Night Prince surpassed The Wolf King for me, 4.5 ⭐️ & 🌶️🌶️.
The character development and progression of the story felt much more layered in this book. I loved uncovering more about Aurora's past and the introduction of her brother added another interesting dynamic.
The glimpses into her visions and dreams added great depth and context, and completely pulled me into the story. I couldn't wait to see what happened next and stayed up way too late reading. lol
I'm more than ready for Aurora to stop dimming her light and fully step into her power, it's her time to shine. And Blake. I'm so excited to see how their relationship develops in the next book! ❤️

Satisfying continuation
Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2026Audiobook 4/4 ⭐️
Story 4/4 ⭐️
The Night Prince delivers a rich, immersive world that’s easy to sink into, with emotional depth that adds real weight to the story. The characters shine—especially the swoon-worthy MMCs—making this a genuinely fun and satisfying continuation of the series. The relationships feel layered and intense, and the stakes keep you invested from start to finish.
On audio, Shane East as Callum, Sean Masters as Blake, and Zara Hampton-Brown as all remaining voices gave excellent performances. That said, I do wish the audiobook had been produced in full duet. There were several scenes where dialogue from Callum or Blake was voiced by the female narrator, which pulled me out of the moment. If I hadn’t been reading along, it would have been genuinely confusing at times.
Narration quirks aside, this installment deepens the world and the emotional connections in a way that makes it hard not to keep going. A strong continuation with memorable characters and plenty of heart—definitely worth the read (and mostly worth the listen).

better than Book 1.
Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2026I have to tell you I enjoyed this book better than the first which is rare for me. I cannot think of another series or sequel I have enjoyed more than the first book. The reason for this is all about Blake. His character is 100% what makes this plot move. Even though we're taken along on Aurora's POV, the uncertainty of Blake's motivations for every move he makes on the chessboard of the Wolf Kingdom and every word that comes out of his mouth keeps the tension of the story which sucks the reader in. Suspension of Disbelief is handled perfectly thanks to Blake.
I couldn't decide through most of the book whether I was team Callum or team Blake. Part of me thinks this trio is reenacting the mythology that Aurora has been learning about in Book 1 and Book 2. And honestly, at the end of this book I just feel for Blake because this individual has never felt unconditional love from anyone at any point in time. How amazing would his character be if he felt unconditional love from his mother or his lover or SOMEONE???!?
I also agree with the reviewer who said that Callum was annoying in this book. He doesn't seem to have anything appealing outside of his muscular body or mischievous grin. His character lost any depth it was starting to have in Book 1.
I kind of want Aurora to choose Blake simply to throw a wrench in the predictability of all of this, and to save him from the darkness inside of him.
I could also do without all the foul language. It detracts from the story to be honest.

Reviewed in Canada on May 17, 20255 stars to this book and it's earlier start of book 1 the wolf king ! Deeply enjoyed the world building aspects along with the interconnected lore, even smaller details you pass come reigning themselves in and connecting the dots between book 1 and book 2. The MC has a longwinded build up that looking back seems to fit well for a series looking to be a trilogy or longer. This detail description and scenes of intensity keep you hooked with what you believe you want and then flips to reveal another side that could be even better??? Callus was my diehard but as book two comes in throwing curves u didn't think possible, I now find myself shifting to Blake. The return and introduction of many secondary characters fulls out a lot of the world building for myself and even has me feeling like I hope we see the resolve or learned more about them too. Highly highly recommend if you are into fantasy, royals, kingdoms, powerplays, slowburn, fulfilled love, yearning. My only con is i reallllyyyy need a like 3 more additions to this series cause I'm hooked and I never want it to end !!! Will have you reading at work, in the bath, and up til, 3am. Excellent work 👏

Daiany Kill5 out of 5 starsAlucinante, mas alguns pontos poderiam ser melhores.
Reviewed in Brazil on August 9, 2025Desde o primeiro livro Aurora e Callum não me desceram. A personalidade do Callum - mais travessa no início do 1° livro - rapidamente deu lugar a algo MORNO (no sentido ruim da palavra). Sem graça. Sem sal. Insosso.
