This stuff is magical. Orange vanilla smells incredible, is super moisturizing but doesn’t clog your pores or feel greasy. Had a sun burn on my entire upper body and used H&H twice a day for three days and no peeling at all. Will buy and tell everyone about it!

I cautiously made this purchase. I'm an advanced esthetician who prefers natural products. We moved to a drier climate and my skin cannot hold on to water (called Trans Epidermal Water Loss TEWL). My usual tricks weren't giving me the results but after applying my antioxidant oil onto damp skin, I used this whipped tallow as my occlusive. I do hope it has vitamins in it but really it's a great protectant and occlusive to seal water into my skin! The texture is wonderful it dries down velvet soft. The fragrance is lovely and minimal (we don't want too much essential oil on the facial skin). This tallow is excellent under my tinted sunblock. You need literally a pea sized amount for face and you'll have leftover for your hands!

5 stars because this is a high-quality product that does exactly what it's intended to do.

The texture is smooth, whipped, and easy to apply, and the vanilla orange scent is pleasant without being overpowering. It feels rich, nourishing, and leaves the skin feeling soft.

I have oily/combination skin, and after using it regularly on my face, I noticed some dryness, tightness after washing, and eventually a bit of flaking. I later found that some other people with oily or combination skin reported similar experiences with tallow-based skincare. While many people seem to love it, it may not be the ideal choice for every skin type, especially if your skin tends to do better with lightweight, hydration-focused moisturizers. Once I switched back to a lighter gel moisturizer, those issues improved. Because of that, I don't think this balm is the best match for my particular skin type.

That said, I wouldn't consider this a flaw in the product. In fact, I suspect people with dry skin may have a much better experience than I did and could really benefit from the rich, moisturizing formula. The ingredients are high quality, the product feels luxurious, and I can see why it has so many positive reviews.

Being on my 4th batch now, I think I can confidently write a review on this product. I’ve been using it for my face because of my past struggles with acne. This is the only product that I’ve came across that works for me, and I’ve tried everything prior to it. Honestly, I had very low expectations trying it for the first time because of it being a butter type of product knowing that my problem is too much oil production. I thought it was actually going to make it worse but I saw a good review by someone who had the same problem and decided why not? I was very surprised at the end of the first batch on the results. Instead of making my skin way more oily, which is what I expected, it actually produced the opposite result. I began to notice how throughout the day, my skin remained very moisturized but never needed to wipe my face because of it being too oily as I used to a lot. And slowly, I started to see my acne begin to fade. No more pimples damn near every other business day lol. And now, I rarely ever get any.

I normally don’t write reviews but I feel so compelled to write one on this because of the impact this product has had on me. These people are lifesavers for real and if anyone deserves as many reviews as possible, it’s them.

I am 49 and have been dealing with stubborn perimenopausal dry skin for years. I have bought so many creams and serums - some of them hundreds of dollars. Nothing penetrated my face for lasting relief and the dryness just kept making me look older and older. I saw a video about Tallow Balm and went down a rabbit hole looking for the best one to buy. I settled on this Hearth & Homestead Vanilla Orange. Omg, the first time I put it on my face it was like my skin drank it up. It was like my body recognized it and let it penetrate instead of sitting on top. I woke up the next morning for the first time in years without skin that was tight and uncomfortable. I couldn’t wait to use again and again. And I started using it on my elbows and knees and feet - something I would never do with my $300+ creams. Instead of Aquaphor on my lips every night, I dabbed this on them too. After weeks of using, the deep lines in my face plumped up, random pimples I used to get just stopped happening, and I felt like I found a miracle.

Then my family went away for Spring break. Everyone got sunburned. I promised my husband and kids I had something that would help. I put that vanilla orange balm on all our noses, chests, shoulders, arms and legs. In a day or two the burns turned to brown and no one peeled. I f$#%ing love this stuff!

After vacation, I needed to buy more but this time I decided to try the Butter Almond. I had only been using the Vanilla Orange at night because I felt it was too greasy for under makeup. My Facebook feed was now filled with Hearth & Homestead videos and this one looked promising for face. Another winner - I absolutely love it. My face just absorbs the goodness and the effects are lasting. My face doesn’t dry out by morning or by the end of the day. The butter almond is a richer matte balm that I can do as part of my morning routine before make-up. I still love the vanilla orange for my legs and body.

Thank you for bringing this ancient secret of the power of Tallow Balm to modern times. I will use this stuff for the rest of my life and pass on the secrets to my children and future grandchildren.

P.S. I would love a little sample gift set in the $20 range at holiday time for things like teacher gifts and gift exchanges. Something to think about?

I am so shocked at how SMOOTH and BUTTERY these tallow is. I got the herb infused one and it smells GREAT for being a tallow. I used just a bit and it glided all over my baby’s legs. Her skin was so soft and glowy after this. I will be buying some for myself! Give this brand attention!

Overall I love this, and the reviews were spot on! My skin has felt incredibly soft and moisturized since starting this. A little bit absolutely goes a long way. I find it goes on much smoother if your skin is just a tiny bit damp. If skin is completely dry, I find it feels hard to rub in without tugging at my skin needlessly. If I use too much, my skin definitely feels a bit greasy, so it's been a little bit of a balancing act trying to find the right amount between not enough and too much. But once I found that balance, I have loved this product. I got the butter almond one, and the scent is good, if not a tiny bit like buttered popcorn? But it's not overwhelming or long lasting. I will may try another scent next time, but definitely will continue to buy this product.

I have the vanilla orange now but I will be purchasing other scents soon! I bought a few different brands to try and this is the brand I am keeping. Super high quality, no weird smells, great for healing my sensitive skin and rashes , so moisturizing and nourishing. It is kind of expensive for the amount you get BUT I am willing to pay it as long as they don’t cut corners and keep a superior quality product.

I love this! I still have the wrinkles I had before so don't fall into the hype that you won't need bottom or whatever ads on social media say, but my skin feels smoother, more hydrated and healthier. Maybe it will slow down new wrinkles. But a really lovely product!

Well, this is my first time using this kind of product. I washed my face well, gently towel dried then applied all over my face and neck.

I ordered the vanilla scented option. The scent is light and pleasant. It is smooth, creamy and easy to blend. It is not left feeling sticky or a residue on my face.

For this first time in years my face feels moisturized and healthy. Helps with menopause face and skin changes lacking moister and that glow. After several hours it still feels good on my skin, it didn’t absorb and disappear leaving my face dry once again.

I spent so much money on face creams, night creams over the years and nothing seemed to work well. The creams would simply absorb and either I’d re apply or just give up.

I absolutely love this stuff. It’s an excellent product and I’ll be ordering a lot more for my skin routine. When people describe this as a 5 star I’m happy to say I totally agree. Now I’m looking to add this to my Birthday and Christmas wish list. I wholeheartedly believe this product was well thought of, tested with keeping the quality at a high standard.

I purchased this cream for my son, hoping to find something that could assist with his eczema. It appears to be beneficial and effective.

I ordered this not sure if it would be a good product. I tried it and I love it- my skin gets dry and I tried this product and it was so nice going on and feels so refreshing and my skin is refreshed.

I also like it is from a family business and came with a little note that is is hand crafted and if I don't like anything about it to let them know and they will fix it.

Really nice smell and texture ♥︎ my skin quality went up for sure. I also use sometime pure beef tallow on the side Xx
