I absolutely love this vacuum. The suction power is incredible, it’s lightweight, easy to maneuver and makes cleaning so much faster and more efficient.

The illumination feature is honestly impressive — you start seeing dust you didn’t even know was there!

Battery life has been great for my daily cleaning routine, and I love the different power modes depending on the area I’m cleaning.

Expensive, yes, but in my opinion completely worth the investment.

Well, I honestly didn't think I'd be reviewing this any time soon or buying one considering the price, but then our stove caught our kitchen on fire along with my old beloved V10. Shoutout to my Dad's insurance for this V15. I'm what you would call a vacuum enthusiast, but my true love is with shop vacs. I make daily disasters in the shop. In the house on carpet and hard floor though, these cordless Dyson vacs (v10 or better) aren't a joke, they really work and they really replaced our old Dyson ball animal v2 completely. We have a 130lb infinite hair generator (yellow lab) and he generates as much hair as I do saw and metal dust. Not having to deal with a cord completely changed the way I vacuumed, from begrudgingly when my Dad told me to cause we're having company, to sort of enjoying it and doing it 4-5 times per week. I've shown the effectiveness of and actually sold 2 family members and 1 friend on cordless vacs. Unless you live in a small mansion with multiple pets I sincerely bet even an older or cheaper Dyson would suit your needs.

Anyway how's the V15 compared to the V10? Yeah it's basically better in every way, unsurprisingly, but the surprise to me was the fact the green detect LED isn't some desperate gimmick, not entirely, it really shows just how clean (or not) your floors are. I'm not a clean freak, but the fluffy detect motorhead will reveal dirt dust and hair you didn't know was there. How much that actually matters is entirely dependent on your threshold for cleanliness but if nothing else it's a great visual reminder of what needs work and where you've been. The suction is fantastic and borderline ballistic on boost mode. I'm pretty confident I'll never encounter an actual need for boost mode but I'm so glad they added it. It doesn't feel any heavier than the v10 at the handle but it's been a minute since I've used the v10 as it got cooked. Battery life is impressive given the power. I could vacuum every single room of my dad's old 2700 sqft house with the v10 and an aftermarket 6.5ah battery in one charge. Given the higher suction and smaller 3.6ah battery of this v15 I hesitate to guess but I'd say it'd definitely be able to clean the vast majority's highest traffic/dirtiest areas on a charge for sure. The auto power adjustment was a little jarring at first and a feature I wasn't aware of, especially considering the 3 power settings you can still manually select, but it actually does it's thing and works great. I'm not sure if you can turn it off. The dust canister is easy and holds a similar if not larger amount of dust compared to the v10. The fluffy detect motorhead is actually eager to climb and hop some impressive elevation changes in your floor and floor dividers. On hard floors especially with the fluffy motorhead it's much more maneuverable and easier to push, but the carpet motorhead on carpet is definitely harder but not much more than the v10. It does a fantastic job on even medium to heavy pile carpet (Not those shag area rugs though) and makes lightning quick work of hard floors. For how much this costs you'd really hope it's good, and in my humble opinion it definitely is. Indoors this is the best vacuum I've ever used by 5 or 6 good country miles.

I previously had a Dyson V8 and had to replace the battery. After replacing it still only ran for 10 minutes.

The green dust light on the V15 detect plus is so satisfying. I just thought my floors were clean. Boy was I wrong.

The attachments are so handy. Especially with two miniature Goldendoodles.

They don’t shed but they do bring in dirt and grass. This vacuum has made me so happy the suction is amazing especially cleaning up after my dogs. It’s very durable and is performing excellent. Battery life for now is 60 minutes. We shall see if it holds up.

It’s very light weight and is perfect for our environment. I love that the screen shows me the battery charge level and the levels of dust, allergens, sand and large debris that is sucked up.

Overall I’m extremely impressed and I’m now vacuuming every chance I get.

This vacuum will both change and ruin your life, because you will realize how dirty your home really is….😅

Best vacuum I have ever owned. For context: my wife has extremely thick, wavy hair and we have a medium size dog with medium length, wiry hair who sheds frequently. We live in a 2 bedroom home with hardwood and tile floors and some rugs.

General Performance and Hair Pickup

This was our main concern. We owned a Miele Cat and Dog C1 vacuum and my wife’s hair would tangle the brush to hell, making it a pain to clean. I cleaned our entire house without any tangles in the brush. The brush self detangles as it runs so it is perfect for houses with women/pets who shed. This thing is powerful. It will also adjust speed/suction based on the level of dust it detects.

P.S. If you have issues with the rug/carpet brush to spin, adjust the speed to eco and lower the slide bar on the head.

Battery Life

This is where the vacuum lacks but for the power it outputs and being cordless, it’s understandable. On the auto setting, you’ll get about 45 minutes on the auto charge, 60 on eco, and about 30 on full power. A little annoying if your house is dirty and you’re in the groove of cleaning but have to stop to charge.

Weight

For a bigger guy like myself I find it to be the perfect weight but I can see it being heavy to use for smaller people with continuous use. Not heavier than a cord bag vacuum like a Miele but still on the heavier side for a stick vacuum.

Storage Capacity

For a stick vacuum, the storage capacity is pretty good. Depending on the size of your house/level of dirty, it can fill up somewhat quickly but it is easy to empty so it’s not an issue.

Cleaning

Super easy to clean the brushed and the collection bin. You empty it almost like a pump action, dirty dropping from the bottom. If you have some hair stuck around the filter, fully open and close it a few times and it will be pulled down by the inner rubber ring. The hardwood floor brush is like a microfiber material but easy to disassemble and clean. Watch a YouTube video to be sure but wash the brush with only cold water (the dirt will come off) and let it dry for 24 hours. DO NOT get internal brush head parts wet.

Final Thoughts

This vacuum is worth the money. We got it on sale for 20% off and we are extremely happy we did. Easy to use and clean, expertly cleans rugs and hardwood, and just a great all around machine. We own other Dyson products (hair care) but this purchase cemented us into being a Dyson household.

I'd like to share what I consider to be an extremely poor experience with Dyson. I purchased this vacuum from Amazon, received it on time, however upon receipt the battery refused to charge. I returned it to Amazon within the 30-day return window. It was promptly replaced, and the replacement worked fine. Thanks, Amazon!

Fast forward about 6 months, and the battery once again would not charge. As it was now past the 30-day Amazon return window, I contacted Dyson warranty service directly as the vacuum should still be under the manufacturers warranty. The first issue with Dyson became immediately apparent - there is no way to contact and speak to anyone directly. Everything is done through an automated online system, and subsequent correspondence is via email from a generic email address from a random customer service representative. There is no phone number provided - all correspondence is via this email channel with no other contact information provided.

The next, and worst part of this story - I went through their troubleshooting steps and it was determined I needed a new battery. This is after the first vacuum had a faulty battery upon delivery, and this new one has failed again less than 6 months later. This not what I expected from a $700 product that is supposed to be one of the best on the market. Well, that isn't all that happened....

After determining that I needed a new battery, they asked that I send my proof of purchase which I readily provided - my sales receipt from Amazon. This next part surprised, shocked, and infuriated me. They reviewed my sales receipt and replied back that my vacuum had been purchased from a non-authorized vendor, and I would be responsible for paying for a new battery out of pocket. How can this happen? I bought this from Amazon, right?! I argued back and forth, using only this email correspondence because there was no other way to contact them, and eventually just gave up. They would not stand behind their product because they claimed I purchased from an unauthorized seller!! I now have an worthless, unusable $700 vacuum decorating the back of my hall closet. I refuse to pay for another $75!! battery and find it absolutely absurd that Dyson would choose this approach for product support. Hopefully Amazon reads this review and fixes this issue for future buyers. I will never purchase another Dyson product - they have completely lost me as a customer.

I hope this review helps someone make the right choice about which vacuum they choose.

I considered returning this vacuum but decided to keep.

PROS: It has really powerful suction. I love the fluffy optic cleaner head with the green light because it shows hair and dust that I normally wouldn’t see. The hair screw tool is excellent at picking up cat hair from furniture and carpeted stairs - it is the main reasons why I kept the vacuum. This feature is better than other vacuums I own including an older Dyson cordless stick, Shark upright corded, and generic Amazon cordless stick.

CONS: The suction is too powerful on some of my rugs. The digital motorbar cleaner head is the attachment I have this problem with, to the point that the head stops spinning. I have to use the eco setting to prevent this. The power button is a trigger that you must hold down while using the vacuum. I hate this! It’s caused multiple blisters on the knuckle of my pointer finger and it just hurts. It makes me not want to use the vacuum. I also hate the emptying mechanism. You have to take the attachment off in order to empty the bin. This just adds an additional step to vacuuming…a chore that I already dislike.

Did a lot of research on vacuums before buying the v15. Overall - really loving it. A few things to note:

Pros:

-Fluffy Lazer head works insanely well on hardwoods and illuminates dust that is naked to the visible eye. It's honestly crazy how much it shows.

-Light weight and easy to use. Holding down the trigger to vacuum doesn't bother me. I know some others dont prefer that but I personally don't mind.

-Suction is insane and as I expected for a Dyson.

-Looks good.

-Was easy to mount on the wall using the provided hardware.

Cons:

-This vacuum struggles on rugs. I tried every direction and it won't get it done. The head gets stuck and stops. I only have 3 small rugs so not a big deal for me but something I wanted to call out for others.

-Battery life. The battery is perfectly sufficient for my needs so I'm giving it 5 stars, but I likely couldn't clean my entire home in one charge. It does great on hardwoods and shows a 60 minute runtime on the screen. For carpets, it's also very effective (like I said, the suction is insane), but it drains more power on carpets and shows ~20 minutes of runtime. My house is 2,300 sqft and I don't think I could get all of the house in one go. It pulls up more dust and debris than my old corded shark and is overall better at cleaning. However, If you need this to get through a large house in one deep cleaning session, you may want to buy another battery or a different product. The batteries are detachable and easy to swap. I don't know the cost of a battery but just something to consider.

Overall - super happy with it and it suits my needs as someone who cleans multiple times a week and can breakup cleaning sessions if I run out of juice.

I've never owned a vacuum that makes you *want* to clean, but this one does! Whoever invented the illumination light is a genius. It shows every speck of dirt on the floor in front of you and when you vacuum, you get that satisfied feeling like after you've washed the windows & look through the clean glass. The unit is pretty lightweight and operates with a trigger which is really easy. Cleaning the canister is also easy. I love how convenient it is to vacuum our stairs - the vacuum head swivels perfectly and catches all the corners.

We have quality carpet in all of our bedrooms and they have a thick, tight pile...I don't love this unit for cleaning those. It feels heavy & it's a little hard to push, I think that might be because the suction is strong (?) But for my throw rugs and hardwood floors, this vacuum rocks. I'm hoping it lasts; the vacuum heads are made of a relatively thin plastic so I have to be careful not to bang it against doorways, etc. The unit is pricey, but I would totally recommend it.

I’ve really enjoyed using the Dyson V15 vacuum. The suction is powerful, it picks up dirt and dust very well, and I love how easy it is to move around the house and clean different areas. It definitely feels like a high-quality vacuum and does a great job keeping my floors clean. The only downside for me was that it felt a bit heavier than I expected while using it during pregnancy. Other than that, I’ve been very happy with it and would still recommend it.

I was suing the same machine for last 3 years in a different country. After moving here I preferred the same vacuum which I was very satisfied with. Dyson never disappoints. Comparatively less noisier and easy to handle with just one hand.
