🎉🎉Congratulations to the winners of Capture the Narrative! In collaboration with the UNSW Institute for Cyber Security, we just concluded the world’s first social media manipulation challenge — where student teams built AI-powered chatbots to sway a simulated election. After four weeks of strategy and innovation, Team CtN_QUT from QUT (Queensland University of Technology) emerged victorious at the Sydney final, taking home the $5,000 prize awarded by judges from Microsoft, M&C Saatchi World Services and Day of AI Australia. 🔗Read more about the winners: https://lnkd.in/dWUw5FAB #UNSWEngineering I #UNSWComputerScienceandEngineering I #UNSW I #CaptureTheNarrative2025

I’m sad to say that my time as Education director at UNSW Security Society (SecSoc) is about to come to an end, but I am grateful for the opportunities and memories I’ve gotten in my two years in the society. One of these opportunities was the chance to create a podcast on all things security related, allowing students and fellow security enthusiasts to engage with us beyond our in-person workshops. I would like to thank Richard Buckland for his contribution to one of our episodes on security and education which has just been released a few days ago, he’s a teacher I’ve admired for his passion and kindness, so to say I’m grateful is an understatement. In addition, I’d like to thank Amelia Khor for her help in recording and editing this episode! Hope you all stay tuned for what we have next year as I’m confident next year’s directors will be able to do it better than I did :P Episode links Youtube: https://lnkd.in/g8g6_Bu2 Spotify: https://lnkd.in/gt8zwQmp #CyberCast #Cybersecurity #Education #RichardBuckland #CybersecurityEducation #UNSW

🌟 Bridging the Gap: From Campus to Career 🌟 Yesterday, the Corporate Security team had the privilege of engaging with the incredible team at #UNSWSecSoc to support their journey from studies into the workforce. It was energising to see such a passionate group of future security professionals eager to learn and grow. We explored practical tips for engaging with multinational organisations, such as #Mastercard including: 🔹 Understanding cultural nuances and communication styles 🔹 Building global networks early 🔹 Demonstrating adaptability and curiosity in the role and the company 🔹 Staying informed on international security trends A huge thank you to my colleagues and the SecSoc committee for arranging the event — it takes a lot of effort to bring these opportunities to life, and your dedication truly showed.
