The Accessible Transport Archive
The campaign for accessible public transport has been at the forefront of the Disability rights movement since the 1980s - this archive documents the history of Accessible Transport.
The Accessible Transport Archive
Transport has always been one of the greatest barriers to participating in society for Disabled people. The campaign for accessible public transport has been at the forefront of the Disability rights movement since the 1980s, and continues to this day.
The Accessible Transport Archive is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to document the history of the Disabled community’s long battle to “boldly go where everyone else has gone before”.

Who runs the archive?
The archive is run by Transport for All, the disabled-led group breaking down barriers and transforming the transport system so disabled people can make the journeys we want, with freedom, dignity, ease and confidence.
