Next Play™ is a one-day, hands-on Sports + Technology experience for students ages 6–17 where they explore how sports, data, and technology connect through interactive stations and live challenges.
This program is designed for students who are curious about sports, technology, creativity, and future careers in STEM, media, and sports innovation.
Hosted by Future Tech Leaders, an Atlanta-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, this experience provides hands-on learning opportunities in sports, technology, and career exploration.
Students engage in structured, interactive activities that introduce how sports data, digital tools, and innovation are used in real-world sports environments — helping them understand potential pathways into future careers in sports, media, and technology.
What Students Will Do:
Students will:
- Participate in interactive sports + technology stations
- Explore how sports data is used in real decision-making
- Engage in hands-on problem-solving activities
- Learn how sports apps and digital tools are designed
- Work in team-based challenges
- Collaborate and share ideas with peers in guided sessions
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the experience, students will:
- Understand how sports teams use data to make decisions
- Learn how performance metrics differ across sports
- Discover how sports apps and fan experiences are designed
- Understand how digital engagement is measured
- Build teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Gain confidence sharing ideas in group settings
Live Sports +Technology Session
Students will take part in a live interactive session connecting sports, technology, and real-world innovation.
Featuring guests from:
- Atlanta Hawks
- Atlanta Dream
- Fanatics
Students will hear how professionals use data, technology, and digital tools in the sports industry and explore real career pathways in these fields.
Program Structure:
This is a structured, supervised youth program designed with parent confidence in mind:
- Check-in and check-out process for all students
- Staff present throughout the entire event
- Guided station rotations at all times
- Structured experience from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Interested in sports, curious about technology, creative thinkers and problem solvers, exploring future STEM, sports, or media careers
