Choosing the right compute architecture for edge AI is about more than peak performance. For many embedded applications, energy efficiency, deterministic latency, and memory footprint have a greater impact than peak TOPS. Silicon Labs is focused on helping developers build edge AI solutions that are efficient, scalable, and designed for real-world deployment. https://lnkd.in/gBtT7ec9

At #Unify2026 in Austin last week, I was lucky enough to host a panel where Philips Hue founder George Yianni dropped a great line that open standards like #Matter don’t commoditize the industry… they just help to handle the "plumbing" so brands can focus on actual innovation. And now Signify is proving exactly that (with some help from Silicon Labs) partnership, with concurrent multiprotocol tech that lets Hue bulbs run Zigbee and Matter-over-Thread simultaneously, eliminating the choice between advanced Bridge features and direct smart home integration. https://lnkd.in/eeNMR_Sg

We're excited to collaborate with Signify to bring concurrent Zigbee and Matter over Thread support to select Philips Hue smart bulbs. As Matter adoption continues to grow, the industry is focused on making smart home devices easier to connect and use while preserving the experiences consumers already know and trust. Together, we're helping bridge today's smart home infrastructure with tomorrow's Matter-based environments. Read more: https://lnkd.in/ga5NGHwp

Electricity demand is growing fast, driven by everything from EVs and AI data centers to increased cooling needs and distributed renewable energy. For utilities, keeping up isn't just about generating more power. It's about gaining better visibility into what's happening across the grid and finding smarter ways to manage energy demand. In our new blog, we look at why smart energy management is becoming increasingly important, how the grid-edge visibility gap is creating new challenges, and how technologies like Wi-SUN and Matter Energy can help connect the grid and the home. A lot of embedded development concepts click faster when there's a real project behind them. Our new Zephyr series uses a Bluetooth SIG Find Me application to explore Bluetooth LE, hardware integration, state machines, and low-power optimization. The series covers everything from Bluetooth services and hardware integration to central/peripheral operation and low-power design. Each stage is provided as a complete application, making it easy to see how the project evolves and why certain design decisions are made. By the end, you'll have a working Bluetooth LE Find Me application and a practical understanding of how the different pieces of Zephyr fit together. https://lnkd.in/gTaG78_M

Matter is ready to scale. This week at Connectivity Standards Alliance's #Unify2026, we announced the successful deployment and operation of a 200-node Matter-over-Thread validation network in a real-world office environment, demonstrating the scalability, reliability and performance needed for commercial buildings, smart homes and large-scale IoT deployments. The results demonstrate reliable commissioning, stable communications and strong performance alongside active Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Thread traffic, highlighting the industry's evolution from proving interoperability to validating real-world deployment readiness.
