Management The more external platforms used, the more management accounts are needed… You must manage both the accounts and all content registered to them

Challenges on your own site

Challenges Problems
Cost Need to build membership authentication and payment systems Implementation requires huge time and cost
Security Must handle personal data Data leaks cause severe damage

HOW IT WORKS

How the Paywall Works

When you register content on codoc, a dedicated article tag is issued. Just paste this tag into your site (or set up the plugin on WordPress), and everything past the point you specify is protected as paid content.

The paid content is never included in your site's HTML; it is stored and delivered from codoc's servers. The paid content is shown via JavaScript only to readers who have completed Payment or login verification.Because the data simply isn't there in the page source, users who haven't purchased can never see the paid content.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I split the free and paid sections?
Where the paid section begins is determined by where you place the tag (or the codoc block on WordPress). Everything above is published for free, and everything below becomes paid content that only readers who purchase can read.
Can I combine Monthly subscriptions with Individual Sales?
Yes. You can freely combine Reader Plans (Free version: Monthly/Annual; paid version: daily/weekly/monthly/annual), Individual Sale, and the Tip feature.
How do I receive my earnings?
Register your bank details in the Dashboard and request a Payout from the Payout screen, and we'll transfer the funds to your account. You can request a Payout once your available balance reaches ¥1,000.
How is content created in WordPress managed on codoc?
When the codoc plugin is set up in WordPress, paid content updated in WordPress is automatically synced to codoc.
Conversely, updating content in the codoc Dashboard also updates the corresponding article in WordPress.
Through the API connection, WordPress articles and codoc content are linked 1:1.
Is the classic editor supported?
Yes. We support both the block editor "Gutenberg" and the classic editor "TinyMCE."
Can I use Reader Plans (subscriptions) too?
Yes. Create Monthly or Annual Reader Plans to deliver articles exclusively to subscribers. You can also run memberships or online communities.
How much does it cost?
Both the plugin and codoc are free, with no setup or monthly fees. When Content sells, we take a Sales Fee of 15% of the sale price. There's no charge for articles with no price set (¥0).
I want to publish articles for free and just receive support
We offer a "Tip" feature. By displaying a tip box at the bottom of an article, you can receive donations and Tips from readers. It's ideal for those who want to monetize while keeping their Content free.
Where can I check my sales?
The codoc Dashboard provides sales management features, including date-range graphs and CSV export.
