What happens next
Referral
We receive your referral
This will come from your contact with the Helpline or a professional referral.
Starting your treatment journey
Once we’ve received your referral, our dedicated Helpline team will send you a Veteran Registration Form within 24 hours to complete. If you need support to complete the Veteran Registration Form, we’ll ensure you get help from a peer support volunteer.
You won’t be left without help.

Assessment
Initial meeting
You will be offered a 30-minute initial meeting with one of our psychological therapists which will take place within ten working days of us receiving your completed registration form. They will determine whether our service is right for you. Even if we’re not the right fit for you, you won’t be left without support. You will still have access to our online self-help resources that help to empower self-recovery available 24/7.
Psychological assessment
If our clinical service is likely to provide the most effective path to recovery, you will have a more in-depth psychological assessment, usually with the same clinician, who will remain a key point of contact. This assessment will take around 90 minutes and, with your consent, we can also meet with someone who knows you well enough to get their perspective.
