This year, the Town will host a special America 250 - Colorado 150 Independence Day event at Festival Park with live music, local food trucks, face painting, other family-friendly activities, and the return of the Town’s Pie Bake-Off competition — enter today. The evening's entertainment lineup includes the Denver Dolls, The Castle Rock Band and Thunder Roads. Due to Stage 2 fire restrictions that went into effect on July 2, the Town’s Independence Day fireworks show will not take place as originally scheduled. The Town will explore opportunities to reschedule the professional fireworks display later this year when conditions safely allow. Updates will be shared at CRgov.com/Fireworks.

    Join us every Wednesday in Downtown Castle Rock during the months of June, July and August for FREE DOWNTOWN TROLLEY RIDES. The Trolley will run a figure-eight loop starting at the Encore Parking Garage Entrance on South Street between Wilcox and Perry Street, drive north on Wilcox Street, make a right on to Third Street and make its second stop at the crosswalk. The Trolley will then make a left on to Perry Street to have its final stop at the Entrance to the Douglas County School District Parking lot on 6th Street between Wilcox and Perry Street. The full loop from either stop back to the same stop takes about 10 minutes, and the half loop takes about 5 minutes. We hope that you will enjoy a meal, do some shopping or find some fun on your visit to Downtown Castle Rock.     Depart from Castle View High School, 5254 N. Meadows Drive, at 7 p.m. or take the shorter route and leave from Douglas County High School, 2842 Front St., at approximately 7:15 p.m. As dusk begins to fall, riders will follow East Plum Creek Trail to Festival Park — approximately 6 miles on mostly flat terrain suitable for riders of all ages.

    Grab your bike, helmet and a few decorations. Family fun is lighting up East Plum Creek Trail at the Town’s annual Pedal the Moon bike ride from one of the high schools to Festival Park. Plus new for 2026 a free movie at the park!

The 45-minute tours will begin at 10:30am at The Courtyard on Perry Street, 333 Perry St. and will conclude at the Castle Rock Museum, 420 Elbert Street. The tours will highlight the history of Castle Rock and its many historic buildings. The tour dates are May 30th, June 27th, July 18th, Aug. 22nd and Sept. 26th.
