a more refined version of my IRQ player thing V3 with extra features alongside sid switching (if you have 2 sid chips installed)

keys for using this stays the same
but z key does the switch from $d400 to $d420 (if you have a 2nd sid chip installed at $d420)
you can hear the difference if you hear it in stereo instead of mono
if you just press the z key with 1 sid chip it will not let you due to me putting a protection for switching sids if you have only 1 sid chip installed
the ghost memory is at $c000
since i used a custom python script to reroute direct sid writes to $c000

Also, as Xiny6581 noticed, my point is to do something else than the rest are doing. Pretty much always, despite taking the risk of losing votes. But Mibri is taking those chances as well with his stuff.

There were several inspirations for the sounds, mainly Hexstatic and maybe Lizzo. So I just had to come up with ways to create the same sounds with a SID. I tried to make the song as groovy as possible with a heavily kicking beat on the party PA to make people dance. Well, it worked with the PA just as I hoped for but to my surprise people were just sitting throughout the compo.

Thank you everyone for the comments. The ending is what it is because of the 3-minute-limit of the compo. It runs around 2:50 or something and adding any parts would have made it go overtime. It was originally made for a demo that would have had both tunes made by me and the current outro was just snug enough to fit the intro of the next one. And I grew to like it as it is.

I'm not that bothered to end up last at the compo. But I'm more nervous of not being able to hear what made the best tracks the best and the least best that way. I guess there is much more to SID music than I can understand at this point. However, I feel more familiar with how the scores ended up with CSDB rating, even without taking my own tune into the equation at all. So I guess it is very subjective in the end.

And yes, the score difference between the first and the last song isn't that much in the end. So low score differences by enough of voters might have been enough.

Anyway, more parties are coming up and I plan to release at least one song for each one I'm visiting, which means at least two this year.

Without wishing to disparage the small—and often not at all bad—OHGJ games: there is a world of difference between them and Richard’s games.

And the reason I haven't made a TND crack for Excess in two years is simply that there is usually nothing left to improve upon in the great Laxity versions.

SIDwizard v1.96 got an AI-aided Win64 build recently. In case someone does this for this fixed and improved v1.97 as well, feel free to upload it here too at this release-page if you like...

There's an important fix in this release for a chord-table row-deletion which affected tempo-table (due to reduced amount of chords not totally registered) which appeared in v1.94. (It's interesting it has not been noticed/reported since.)

Other than that there are 2 important additions:
There were some requests to have SID-Wizard player that doesn't use any self-modifying code so it can be used in ROM (e.g. cartridges). I made all the player-variants/combinations accessible this way by '-ROM' argument or simlink/prg '-ROM' suffix.

The other interesting addition which was planned for 1.96 but is finally realized now, a piano-roll view which is seen on the screenshot. Might be useful for seeing harmonies or voice-leading in a more human-friendly form, or just to use as an eye-candy for playing music right in the editor. (It even displays vibratos, slides, portamentos...)

I hope I can leave SID-Wizard development now for a while and switch to my delayed projects with higher priority...
