Interests

Here's what catches my attention and motivation!

Literature

I like reading: in my spare time, I read articles, blog posts, forum posts, and social media posts about whatever is my latest interest. For fiction, I prefer fantasy adventures, though I don't mind sci-fi explorations. I also enjoy fanfiction of whichever media captures my attention at the time. I would like to read more comics and manga, but I hadn't had much opportunity to do so.

My childhood dream was becoming a writer; while I've learned to be realistic regarding that aspiration, part of me still dabbles in writing original fiction, fanfiction, or even poetry.

Technology

When I have plenty of time and energy, I like tinkering with software, services, and technologies. Nowadays, however, I gravitate towards free and open-source software (FOSS) over commercial and proprietary software. Because I usually work between my laptop and my smartphone, I prefer cross-platform or platform-agnostic software and DRM-free file formats.

Additionally, in recent years I've become more conscious of the privacy of my online data and my cybersecurity practices. Hence, I've taken steps to move away from proprietary services, whether by using Fediverse servers hosted by people I trust, or "self-hosting" FOSS services with PikaPods.

Also, I've always wanted my own website and I loved HTML and CSS since I first learned them. I'm interested in the "personal web" movements: Indieweb, retroweb, smolweb, cozy web, etc.

TV Shows and Movies

I have been a casual anime and cartoon watcher ever since I was a child. I mostly prefer shounen anime, since that's what I grew up with, but lately I've gotten into watching isekai anime.

As for non-animated TV shows and movies, similar to my tastes in literature, I often gravitate towards fantasy shows, but sometimes I watch sci-fi as well. I also enjoy most action films and documentaries.

Music

I'm a simple person who enjoys what's popular on the radio; recently, though, I'm preferring music of the 2000s and 2010s, which really reveals my age. My favorite musicians of those decades include Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco, Paramore, The Script, and Adele.

Games

When I choose what videogames to play, I like cozy over action-packed. I'm not good at making split-second decisions, so I prefer turn-based RPGs. I also like open-world sandbox games or simulators that let me explore lore and mechanics. Some of my favorite videogames include Minecraft, Stardew Valley, Terraria, the Persona games, and the Sims games.
