Image Magician (Repost Moderation)

Image Magician is an image detection and moderation bot originally known as u/MAGIC_EYE_BOT (now u/image-magician).

Unlike other bots that purely detect image reposts, Image Magican is developed to actively support moderators with their repost and removal workflows.

Quick start guide

• The default repost removal period is 30 days
• If users reply to u/image-magician it will report the comment so you can check it out.
• Customize removal messages and behaviour by visiting Mod Tools -> Installed Apps -> Settings

Troubleshooting

• On rare occasions Image Magician can misdetect images and when it does the images may not look anything like each other. This is because the bot doesn't see images like our eyes and brain do. If an image is cropped in specific ways it also may no longer match. It's a trade off, and you can tweak the tolerance in the settings to fit your subreddit.

• If an image is giving you problems with false positives, you can remove it from the database with a menu option (shown below)

• NSFW animated media will only be processed in NSFW communities, as it relies on the un-censored thumbnail.

• Videos/gifs with a pure black/single colour starting frame will be ignored.
