What We Do
We test and scale organizing strategies that build power in our network and create the conditions for social and political change.
Equality Federation Institute convenes state-based leaders, movement partners, organizers and advocates to assess movement needs, develop innovative solutions, and rapidly deploy strategies with our state partners.
Across our core areas of work, we have been on the cutting edge of leadership development, organizing and narrative change, and policy advocacy.
Coaching and Leadership Development
From field organizers to executive directors, every one in our movement must center their own development. Equality Federation Institute houses the LGBTQ+ movement’s coaching, skills building, and leadership development work to strengthen their capacity and scale their impact.
Narrative Change and Policy Advocacy
Whether at voters’ doorsteps, around the dinner table, or in front of elected officials and decision-makers, we equip organizers and advocates with the skills and resources they need so every conversation is a chance to grow our movement.
Movement Building
From our lens as a national organization, Equality Federation Institute proactively identifies gaps within our network, and connects state partners to experts, resources, and funding. Through early investments, we help accelerate the advocacy of our state partners.

Equality Federation Institute is an advocacy accelerator rooted in social justice, building power in our network of state-based lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) advocacy organizations.
