Pixel Media

In the different political and economic context of the European countries, and the rise of new technologies and digital transformation, Media Literacy is key to ensure the democracy in the European Union. Pixel Media project’s objective is to create a video game for European citizens between 16 and 30 years old to improve their media and information literacy, and providing pedagogical resources to educators, trainers, and media education organisations related to the video game. The video game aims to equip young people with the critical thinking skills necessary to navigate the complex media landscape, through different journeys. It will allow the player to embody different actors of the media industry, as well as consumers of the media, in various situations and contexts, to experience all the points of view and develop their empathy and understanding of complex processes in media.

The pedagogical resource’s objective is to empower educators and trainers in their crucial roles, providing adaptive pedagogical sequences, a library of resources on media literacy concept and tools, and a local and international trainings. These resources aim to facilitate educators and trainers in integrating the video game into their teaching strategies, enabling them to offer an engaging and immersive learning experience. By equipping educators with these resources, the Pixel Media project aims to foster a more informed, critical, and participatory approach to media consumption among European youth, thereby contributing to the broader educational and democratic goals of the European Union.
