This 8-week reading plan takes us on a sweeping journey through God’s redemptive story—from the moment light breaks forth over creation through the promise of a renewed cosmos where God dwells eternally with his people.

 

We’ll journey through the grand story of Scripture—from creation, covenant, and kingdom, through exile and restoration, to the arrival of Jesus, His death and resurrection, and the birth of the Church empowered by the Holy Spirit. The story culminates in Revelation’s vision of a restored creation, revealing God’s plan to reconcile all things to Himself and dwell forever with His redeemed people.


Week 1: Creation, Covenant, and Calling

Day 1: Genesis 1:1–5 — God creates light and separates it from darkness

Day 2: Genesis 12:1–3 — God calls Abram and promises to bless all nations through him

Day 3: Genesis 15:1–6 — God promises Abram offspring as numerous as the stars, and Abram believes the Lord

Day 4: Genesis 22:1–24 — Abraham’s faith is tested when God asks him to sacrifice Isaac

Day 5: Exodus 3:1–13 — Moses encounters God in a burning bush and receives his commission to free Israel

Day 6: Exodus 12:1–17 — God institutes the Passover as a sign of deliverance from Egypt

Day 7: Exodus 19:1–9 — Israel arrives at Mount Sinai and God offers them a covenant


Week 2: Law, Leadership, and Kingdom

Day 8: Deuteronomy 6:4–9 — The Shema: Love the Lord w/ all your heart, teach these commands to your children

Day 9: Joshua 24:1–33 — Joshua assembles Israel and leads them in covenant renewal at Shechem

Day 10: 1 Samuel 16:1–16 — Samuel anoints David as king, noting that the Lord looks at the heart

Day 11: 2 Samuel 7:1–12 — God makes a covenant with David, promising an eternal dynasty

Day 12: 1 Kings 8:1–11 — Solomon brings the ark into the temple, and God’s glory fills the house

Day 13: 2 Kings 17:7–16 — Israel is exiled because they worshiped other gods and rejected God’s commands

Day 14: 2 Kings 25:1–17 — Jerusalem falls to Babylon; the temple is destroyed and people are exiled


Week 3: Restoration, Wisdom, and Prophecy

Day 15: Ezra 1:1–8 — Cyrus permits the exiles to return and rebuild the temple in Jerusalem

Day 16: Nehemiah 8:1–18 — Ezra reads the Law publicly, and the people weep and celebrate

Day 17: Psalm 23 — The Lord is my shepherd; he leads, comforts, and provides

Day 18: Psalm 51 — David confesses his sin and pleads for God’s mercy and restoration

Day 19: Isaiah 53:1–12 — The Suffering Servant is pierced for our transgressions and bears our iniquities

Day 20: Jeremiah 31:31–34 — God promises a new covenant written on hearts with complete forgiveness

Day 21: Ezekiel 36:22–28 — God promises to give a new heart and put his Spirit within his people


Week 4: Visions and Preparation

Day 22: Daniel 7:1–21 — Daniel sees four beasts and the Ancient of Days on a throne of fire

Day 23: Matthew 1:1–17 — The genealogy of Jesus traces his lineage from Abraham through David to Joseph

Day 24: Luke 1:1–15 — An angel announces to Zechariah that his wife Elizabeth will bear a son named John

Day 25: John 1:1–18 — The Word was God and became flesh; through him all things were made

Day 26: Matthew 5:1–20 — Jesus teaches the Beatitudes and describes his disciples as salt and light

Day 27: Matthew 16:13–20 — Peter declares Jesus is the Messiah, and Jesus promises to build his church

Day 28: John 3:16–21 — God so loved the world that he gave his Son; whoever believes has eternal life


Week 5: Teaching, Miracles, and Parables

Day 29: Luke 15:1–32 — Jesus teaches the parables of the lost sheep, lost coin, and lost son

Day 30: John 14:1–17 — Jesus comforts his disciples and promises the Holy Spirit as an advocate

Day 31: Matthew 26:6–13 — A woman anoints Jesus with expensive perfume, preparing him for burial

Day 32: Matthew 26:17–30 — Jesus celebrates the Last Supper with his disciples, instituting communion

Day 33: Matthew 26:1–4 — The chief priests and elders plot to arrest Jesus and kill him

Day 34: Luke 24:1–11 — Women discover the empty tomb; angels announce Jesus has risen

Day 35: Luke 24:13–16 — Jesus appears to disciples on the road to Emmaus


Week 6: Resurrection, Ascension, and Pentecost

Day 36: Acts 1:1–8 — Jesus appears for forty days and promises the Holy Spirit will come upon them

Day 37: Acts 1:8–9 — Jesus ascends to heaven after promising power to witness to the ends of the earth

Day 38: Acts 9:1–17 — Saul encounters the risen Jesus on the Damascus road and is converted

Day 39: Acts 15:1–12 — The Jerusalem Council debates whether Gentiles must be circumcised to be saved

Day 40: Romans 1:1–12 — Paul introduces himself as an apostle set apart for the gospel of God

Day 41: 1 Corinthians 15:1–10 — Paul recounts the gospel: Christ died, was buried, and rose on the third day

Day 42: Ephesians 2:1–10 — God made us alive in Christ by grace through faith, creating us for good works


Week 7: Faith, Humility, and Transformation

Day 43: Philippians 2:5–11 — Christ emptied himself, became obedient to death, and was exalted above all names

Day 44: Hebrews 11:1–15 — Faith is confidence in what we hope for; the ancients were commended for their faith

Day 45: Hebrews 11:6–13 — Without faith it is impossible to please God; Abraham obeyed and looked for the city God built

Day 46: 1 Corinthians 15:12–17 — If Christ has not been raised, our faith is futile and we are still in our sins

Day 47: John 14:5–6 — Jesus declares he is the way, the truth, and the life

Day 48: Reflection — Review the arc from creation through incarnation, death, and resurrection


Week 8: Consummation and Eternity

Day 49: Revelation 21:1–10 — A new heaven and new earth appear; God dwells with his people forever

Day 50: Revelation 21:3–7 — God’s dwelling is with humanity; he wipes away every tear and makes all things new

Day 51: Revelation 21:6–12 — God is the Alpha and Omega; the New Jerusalem comes down from heaven

Day 52: John 1:12–18 — To all who receive Jesus, he gives the right to become children of God

Day 53: John 3:16–17 — God’s love sent his Son so the world might be saved through him

Day 54: Romans 1:16 — Paul declares he is not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation

Day 55: Ephesians 2:4–6 — God’s mercy made us alive with Christ and seated us in heavenly places

Day 56: Reflection — Consider the complete biblical narrative from creation to new creation, recognizing God’s redemptive plan
