About Skacore
Skacore (Also written as Ska-core) is a sub-genre of punk rock, which fuses ska punk and hardcore punk. Skacore is still active, but there are very few skacore artists left today.
Before skacore began, many ska/punk bands played to similar audiences. Many groups like the Clash began the trend of fusing ska and punk rock, but the songs mainly turned out as a punk rock song with a slight ska sound to it. During the late 1980s, skacore hit its peak, with multiple bands catching on and playing it. When the rise of pop occured in the 1990s and 2000s, skacore died out, with many bands breaking up or quitting the music industry.
Skacore is often confused with Reggae-rock, which it is very similar to.
