Pinterest sends you notifications when you have new updates or messages. You receive notifications in three different ways:

  • On Pinterest: These notifications appear on the Pinterest app or when you use Pinterest on your desktop.
  • By email: These notifications are sent to you via email.
  • By push notifications: These notifications appear on your phone.
  • We do our best to only send you notifications we think you’ll want to read. You can change your preferences in your settings or unsubscribe from within an email.

    Edit your notification settings

    Change your notification settings to adjust how often you hear about what’s happening on Pinterest.

    To change the ability for someone on Pinterest to mention you in a comment or a Pin, go to your Privacy and data settings.

    If you're getting emails about an account you didn't create, you can remove your email address from that account.

  • Log in to your Pinterest account
  • Click  the more-options-refresh icon  at the bottom left of your screen
  • Click Settings
  • Click Notifications from the left-side navigation
  • Click  next to the notification category you wish to customize:
    • You'll see three options: Push, Email, or In-app
  • Click the toggle next to the notification type to turn it on or off.
  • Click Save at the bottom of the screen. You can also click Reset to set all of your notifications back to default settings. 
  • Open the Pinterest app on your device and log in to your Pinterest account
  • Tap your profile picture at the bottom-right corner of the screen
  • Then, tap  the more-options-refresh icon  at the top-right corner of your screen
  • Tap Notifications
  • Tap the notification category you wish to customize:
    • You'll see three notification options: Push, Email, or In-app
  • Set your preferences for each type of notification
  • Your changes will save automatically.

    Note: If you have a business account, you can access your settings by logging in to your Pinterest account, tapping your profile photo at the bottom-right of the screen and then tapping  the ellipsis icon  at the top-right corner.

  • Open the Pinterest app on your device and log in to your Pinterest account.
  • Tap your profile picture at the bottom-right corner of the screen.
  • Then, tap your profile picture at the top-left corner of your screen.
  • Tap Notifications.
  • Tap the notification category you wish to customize:
    • You'll see three notification options: Push, Email, or In-app
    • To turn on push notifications for Pinterest, follow the steps below:
      • Tap Open Settings.
      • Tap Notifications.
      • Toggle the switch next to Allow Notifications to turn push notifications on or off.
  • Set your preferences for each type of notification.
  • Your changes will save automatically.

    Note: If you have a business account, you can access your settings by logging in to your Pinterest account, tapping your profile photo at the bottom-right of the screen and then tapping  the ellipsis icon  at the top-right corner.

    Types of notifications

    On Pinterest notifications appear on the Pinterest app or on Pinterest.com.

    See activity from other people: This allows you to control whether you see activity from your Facebook friends and people you follow. The activity you’ll see includes things like Pins they have seen, people they follow and boards they’ve created.

    Email notifications are sent to you via email.
