Already not the biggest Return of Godzilla fan, but when you change it to antagonize the Soviets (kinda defeating the purpose of the movie) and somehow make Steve even more useless than he was in KOTM, you've just got nothing. Plus the dub's not very good, which KOTM didn't have to worry about as much because only like half the dialogue was dubbed, there was still real Japanese in it, which I thought was cool. An interesting little curiosity in the history of legacy sequels, but not worth much unless you're a Raymond Burr conpletionist.

I already had Coming Out on my LGBTQIA+ Challenge list, but before I got around to watching it I Iearned Cressa Maeva Áine just celebrated 10 years of Godzilla stop motion, so I decided to take the 20 or so minutes to just watch em all*. Worthwhile decision. The one-two punch from Coming Out into Godzilla X Kong in Other Movies smoked me though, I was already teary-eyed and then you hit me with the In the Mood for Love…

As useless as he is I kinda love just how much of a fanfic self insert Steve Martin is. It gives real "guys is my OC too obvious" vibes.

Aesthetically pretty nice, and I have to admire just how bold it is to submit it for Oscar consideration, but this borders on being an objective waste of 15 minutes. Again, in some ways I have to appreciate that, because this is the most literal "documentary" I've ever seen. They just follow some wandering donkeys around with a camera with some time lapse observatory footage mixed in. It is literally 99% of what happens on Earth every day. Life is often unremarkable, but sometimes kinda beautiful. Cool. Still a bit of a chore.
I'll take 100 more of these over whatever Jay Rosenblatt's doing though.
