PJM5 out of 5 starsCapable, Solid Quality... Nice Light for Photography
Reviewed in the United States on 28 April 2026Vine Customer Review of Free ProductThis is a surprisingly capable little light—with one feature that needs a bit of explanation.
Let’s start with what it does well. As a compact RGB photography light, it’s very usable. The brightness is solid for its size, the color options are extensive, and it’s easy to dial in the look you want. It works great as an accent light, fill light, or handheld directional light for photos and video.
Build quality is good, and the controls are straightforward. No complaints there.
Now, about the gobo filters.
If you’re not familiar with them (I wasn’t at first), they’re essentially small stencils that are supposed to project shapes—patterns, animals, textures—onto a surface using the light.
In practice, with this particular light, they’re a bit limited.
You can use them, but the results are only sharp when the light is very close to the surface. As you move the light farther away, the shapes become soft and blurry. That’s not necessarily a defect—it’s more a limitation of the design. This light doesn’t have a focusing lens system, so it behaves more like a flood light than a projector.
That said, the gobos aren’t completely useless—they work better for soft textures and background effects rather than crisp, defined shapes. If you think of them as a way to add mood or visual interest instead of projecting a sharp image, they make more sense.
So while the gobo feature feels a bit more like a bonus than a core strength, the light itself is still very good at what it’s primarily meant to do.
Overall, this is a versatile, easy-to-use RGB light with solid performance. Just set your expectations accordingly for the gobo feature.
Five stars.

Curious4 out of 5 starsVersatile Starter RGB Gobo Light with Flexible Beam Control — Portable and Easy to Learn
Reviewed in the United States on 16 April 2026Vine Customer Review of Free ProductThis is a compact 20W RGB continuous LED spotlight (not a camera-triggered flash) that works well as a starter lighting tool for learning directed lighting and gobo projection effects. At about 7″ long, ~2″ diameter, and ~1.2 lbs, it’s portable enough for location work yet feels solid in hand. It can be used handheld or on a tripod or light stand.
Brightness adjustment is stepless from 1–100%, and the beam can be shaped from roughly 10° to 60° by sliding the front barrel—very useful for controlling spill or tightening projections. The light turns on about 2–3 seconds after activation, which is helpful to know if timing matters during a setup.
Color light options include white (~6300K), amber (~2000K), blue, and red, and the kit includes 20 patterned gobos plus a silicone snoot-style holder. These project clean effects on backgrounds or subjects and make it easy to experiment creatively without additional accessories. If I had two or three of these lights, they could easily be combined into a simple multi-light setup (key + effects).
Handling the light is comfortable thanks to its textured sides, and the light stayed cool during 30+ minute test sessions handheld and tripod-mounted. There are three standard 1/4″-20 mounting ports—one on the base and one on each side of the light—which makes it easy to position horizontally or vertically on a tripod or light stand. The body combines aluminum alloy with some ABS components, keeping the light both sturdy and portable. A built-in fan runs during use and charging with the included USB-C to USB-C cable; it produces a low hum that didn’t bother me, but could matter if recording audio close to the light.
The silicone snoot/gobo holder is lightweight and appropriately heat-resistant, but inserting and removing the gobos takes a bit of fiddling. A simple slot-style loading design would make swapping patterns faster and easier during a shoot. That slower workflow was the main factor behind my 4-star rating instead of 5.
Battery status is shown via four indicator LEDs, and the light can operate while charging (though I wouldn’t rely on that long-term). My light arrived fully charged, so I cannot say what amount of time a full charge would require. A soft velvet pouch is included and fits the light and charging cable well, but it’s a little tight for storing the snoot and the stack of 20 gobos together at the same time. A slightly wider pouch would make it easier to keep the full working kit protected and organized in one place.
Overall, this feels like a thoughtfully designed entry-level creative lighting toolkit—especially strong for learning gobo lighting techniques with the benefit of portability.

Amazon Customer5 out of 5 starsFun little photography spotlight
Reviewed in the United States on 27 April 2026Vine Customer Review of Free ProductI found this to be a fun little spotlight (they call it a flashlight) for simple, yet creative shoots. The light is powerful for it's size, but keep in mind that you need to place it relatively close to your subject. The colors are good and while some might find the color options limited, keep in mind that you can just place a color filter in front of it if you want a different color that's not provided (that's the way most colors are accomplished in photography lighting away). The battery life is good for a light that runs off a battery. I'm not sure they really needed to make it battery operated since it's such a specialized light, but whatever. Being battery operated does make it very portable, though. There is a fan that might be an issue at times when shooting video, as you don't want fan noise to be picked up on audio. The brightness is adjustable by turning the knob/button (pressing it changes the color), which is very useful. The variety of gobo filters (shaped filters) is nice and they are fun to play around with. However, in practice, I only found a few of them actually useful, but that's just me. Overall, this is a fun little spotlight suitable for photographers who want to expand their skills into studio-style lighting without spending a lot of money. (I would post a photo, but I'm not sure my model would appreciate me using an image of them without their permission.)
