No—while many clients are in Houston, we support businesses nationwide through virtual meetings and secure portals.

Can I pick and choose services?

Do you handle one-time projects?

Absolutely. Clean-ups, entity formations, lien filings, ITIN applications, and financial audits and more are all available à-la-carte.

How does the ITIN (CAA) process work, and why is it better than filing on your own?

As an IRS Certifying Acceptance Agent (CAA) we manage the entire ITIN process: 1️⃣ free eligibility call 2️⃣ on-site or secure-video ID check so you keep your passport—no consulate lines or certified copies 3️⃣ we prep Form W-7 and any tax return/exception 4️⃣ overnight delivery direct to the IRS ITIN unit 5️⃣ real-time tracking and IRS follow-up 6️⃣ we forward your approval notice as soon as the ITIN is issued (≈8–12 weeks). Which accounting software do you use?

Primarily QuickBooks Online. We also work with Xero, Gusto, ADP, and other cloud tools.

How often will I hear from you?

Monthly clients receive scheduled reports and optional strategy calls. CFO clients have standing bi-weekly or weekly touchpoints. Urgent questions? We reply within hours or no later than 1 business day.

What documents will you need from me?

Bank and credit-card statements, payroll reports, prior-year tax returns, receipts (digital is fine), and any industry-specific docs (invoices, POS exports, etc.).

How is pricing determined?

Based on transaction volume, complexity, and service scope. We provide flat, transparent fees—no surprise hourly bills.

Do you require a contract?

Monthly services run on 6- or 12-month agreements (cancel anytime with 30 days’ notice). Project work is milestone-based.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept: Zelle, credit/debit cards, and business checks. Automatic monthly billing is available.

Is there a referral bonus?

Yes! Refer a client who signs up for monthly services and receive a credit or cash bonus (ask for current promo details).

How do you keep my information secure?

We use encrypted cloud portals, multi-factor authentication, and follow IRS Pub 4557 data-security guidelines.

Will you sign an NDA?

Our engagement letter includes confidentiality terms, and we’re happy to sign a separate NDA if required.

Are you licensed or certified?

Yes. Balancing Bookks is led by an IRS-approved Certifying Acceptance Agent and QuickBooks ProAdvisor. Our in-house team includes junior and senior bookkeepers, degreed staff accountants, an Enrolled Agent for IRS matters, and a licensed CPA for complex tax and attest work. We’re especially proud of Our Fractional CFO who's a retired Army veteran who ran finance for a Dallas company with $900 million+ in annual revenue during his 30+year corporate career. How long does bookkeeping cleanup take?

Typically 2–6 weeks, depending on backlog and your responsiveness with documents.

How soon can you file my taxes?

individual returns can be completed in 5–10 business days once we have all documents; business returns vary by entity and complexity.

Do you offer services in Spanish?
