Dead Language is the techno project of Durham based DJ, producer and promoter Johan Yardan. Desiring to create a space for abstract, genre-bending techno experiences, Johan founded “KINETIC AUDIO” in 2022. Kinetic Audio was created as an outlet for raw, experimental techno. Dismayed by the lack of originality and experimentation in the Raleigh-Durham scene, founder Johan Yardan stripped the concept to its most basic functions. Kinetic Audio at its core focuses on the connection between the artist, the listener and the sound system. Every element of a Kinetic Audio party directly enhances this triad. Through this approach, Kinetic Audio cultivates a level of vulnerability and trust between the listener and artist, leading to events that are as educational as they are electrified. Through helping others find themselves musically, Johan’s style has matured as well, emphasizing swirling, layered textures and momentum focused percussion.
