EmptyArray creates music through a non-hierarchical, bottom-up process of collective improvisation. Without a designated leader, the music emerges from continuous mutual interaction, evolving in real time through attentive listening and response. Each performance becomes an ongoing dialogue in which roles remain fluid rather than fixed: the piano may shape rhythm, the drums may suggest harmony, and the bass may carry melody. Through this reactive and iterative approach, the group explores a shared musical space where every voice influences the direction of the whole.

The band's name, EmptyArray, is a programming-inspired metaphor for this process. Like the mathematical construction in which repeated iteration starting from the empty set can generate increasingly rich structures, the ensemble demonstrates how complex and unexpected musical forms can emerge from seemingly minimal beginnings through collective interaction and iteration.
