Thank you for being here.  We would love to talk with you about your musical and personal roots and preserve your passion.  

SCREAMED is a project that hopes to hear from harsh vocalists and screamers.  The spirit of the research lies in oral histories and cultural sociology.

Going to call the version I have of everything the 1.0 and just start collecting interviews!  So, yeah... sorry I haven't sent inspiration tweets or whatever.  *You can do it.*

At its founding, SCREAMED is currently run and supported entirely by Sean C. Moore, MS— me. I am a lifelong music zealot and I am indeed probably a little old to be doing that.  

Since earning my masters degree in Sociology from Illinois State, I served twice in the Peace Corps and lived and taught in a few spots in southern China.   Settling back in the US, in 2018 I began working with subject matter experts across the country to organize community-based overdose prevention trainings.

Returning to playing drums in 2020 led my music tastes to somehow slide from "old millenial weird indie gems" or prog and industrial metal or my old penchants for sloggy grunge.  As the world of post hardcore opened up, my lifelong appreciation of vocalists slowly became my love for my favorite screamers.  

There's not enough research on the role of these artists, who command a passionate and diverse fan base.  It's my own bias that this music saves lives, and I hope to find out how.
