First time bringing my mother-in-law to try Omakase! This chef is preparing very unique Tempura Omakase. He purposely don't open music in the restaurant. The reason being the chef needs to listen to the oil platter sound to gauge when an ingredient is cooked, because different ingredient has different moisture level. Amazing skill!

The batter coating was so transparent and airy that it acted as a lens, magnifying the natural sweetness of the fresh prawns and seasonal vegetables. Despite being deep-fried, it felt virtuous and clean, with no trace of residual oil on the palate.

✨ Edo-style Tempura ✨ Offering an omakase experience — Tempura Ensei highlights Japan’s finest seasonal ingredients, including Kuruma Ebi and fresh vegetables, all fried in premium oil and paired with an exclusive selection of sakes. Intimate counter seating with an open kitchen centred around the cooking pot where you can watch each tempura being prepared and fried. Chef Masashi Watanabe was very meticulous with his dishes, and shares with us many Japan’s culture and food! This is my first Tempura Omakase experience and I must say it was awesome! Very impressive tempura served! Rub belly! 💚😋
