Victor was a fantastic surf instructor! He was very patient with us as we were beginnings and gave us a lot of help getting up on the board. We first started with a brief theory lesson on land before getting in the water. I'd highly recommend. I will definitely hire him again next time I am back in Sayulita.

Yeah Vary Surf Adventure

AVOID THIS PLACE ! This was my very first surf class and I Booked it with a friend who had some previous experience. We explained that to Victor, our instructor and he was confident that we can take a class together. We believed him, which was a mistake. all he cared about was that could make double 💰for what he normally would if it was a private class for 1 person. We spent 10 minutes on the beach where he explained how to stand up on surfboard. Right after that he took us to the line up instead of the usual beginner spot, just because my friend knew how to surf. I didn’t mind trying because I’m pretty athletic person, but after struggling to stand couple of times, how did he not notice that it is too much for a complete beginner ? He saw that I failed to stand up on the board, struggled to get back to the line up after the waves swept me off couple of times. Other surfers came to check in on me, could see that Im struggling and warned me about sea urchins that were exactly where he was pushing me into… he was nowhere near when I was trying to get back. I didn’t feel safe, I was scared and towards the end of our session I felt like a failure. I had no clue that as a beginner I should practice on small beach break waves…. Throughout the session, all he did was give us a push… and he did. Right into the sea urchins. Even some bystanders on the beach were telling me that we shouldn’t be there. It ended up badly. I had sea urchins spikes on my feet and my friend also had cut her foot. Victor helped me take them out And it was very painful. All of this could’ve been EASILY avoided if he was professional. His behaviour towards the end was disgraceful as he was laughing and making jokes that sea urchins are nothing and he had much worse accidents in the past. 0 professionalism, 0 responsability. He looked high the whole time. All I regret is paying him upfront.

We booked Victor to coach a group of us for a birthday surf session, and it was such a special experience. I wanted my 9-year-old niece to paddle out with us, but she’s always been a little nervous in the water. Victor made her feel so safe and confident. He took the time to explain everything clearly on the beach, and what really stood out was how patient and understanding he was—he truly held space for her energy. By the end of the session, she was paddling for her own waves with the biggest smile on her face. Later that night she asked if she could surf with Victor every week because “he actually listens to me when I’m scared’’ I cant recommend him enough - especially with kids.
