I've gotten my haircut from both Phoenix and Papa Smoke! I love these guys, and recommend them to any trans person looking for a fresh cut in a place with strong community-focused vibes. They also have a mutual aid shelf where they were handing out leftover trans tape (!!) and food. While I just get a buzz cut and can totally do it myself, I feel it's so worth visiting Flux even though times is hard.

Great people, great haircuts. Flux will make you feel very at home & cared for, & the stylists have a lot of knowledge & will help you get a cut you love! I came in thinking I would get the same cut I typically have, but Phoenix suggested trying out a razor cut to give more texture in my hair & with that plus a blowout, I walked out feeling more excited about my hair than I had in a few years.

Can always count on a good haircut from Smokey! So professional and even gives my stray eyebrows a little trim. Highly recommend :)

Nathalie has been cutting and coloring my hair for five plus years and its never looked better. She somehow understands everything I suggest and is able to make it happen. She is a wash and go genius - I literally put product in my wet hair and it looks great everyday.

I have really enjoyed watching her growth from working in a traditional salon to starting a single person shop that is now actively growing and fostering other stylist's development.

This review is for the girlies! Book with Jen Jinx. I have been following her for 2 years. She listens to your hair goals and also studies your hair to give you a realistic style. My curls!!! Plus I like to be in a warm environment. Me and my gal booked an appointment together and had the most fun. Of all the places I've booked with her, this is her best space.

Jen (Jinx) has been my girlie for my very thick, curly hair for a couple years now. I have traveled different places to where she is because of her amazing attention to detail, talent and not to mention warm and loving personality. When I found out she was coming closer to my neighborhood I needed to book an appointment immediately. She’s truly such an amazing stylist and the experience was the most fun. Go to her for all your hair needs, seriously.

I’ve been getting my haircut with Phoenix for five years. He’s fantastic! It took a while to finally find someone who I trusted to cut my hair.

It was important to find someone who not only was from the same community, but also knows the science of hair. Barbers and stylists see my hair as a linear thing bc it’s straight and fine. But most hair has nuance. Phoenix understands that. He understands how my hair grows at different speeds, my many small cowlicks at particular lengths, and recognized my struggles recently with some hair thinning. I always leave his chair feeling confident and loving how I look.

I’ve had my hair done by Smokey twice now, and every time I leave feeling like a more confident version of myself. They are so good at taking my loose description of my vision and making it a reality. They are also very mindful of face shape and cut my hair in a way that compliments how I look.

The environment of the salon is fun, laid back, and safe. I highly recommend this space for anyone looking for an inclusive queer salon with stylists who  listen and respect one another and their customers.

Jen Jinx changed my LIFE! I went from a soft blonde to a vibrant teal/blue balayage and she absolutely nailed it. Her understanding of: color- which she blended seamlessly, my vision for the cut and style, and advice on how to boost my hair’s vitality? Exceptional. Aside from her talent and skill, I also love her energy and we have the best conversations when I’m in her chair! 100/10 - highly recommend.
