It’s more than just making a wooden toy.
Children don't just build a wooden toy to take home.
They learn about sustainability, develop practical life skills, build confidence and experience a sense of pride and accomplishment that comes from creating something with their own hands.
Behind every project is a carefully designed learning experience that supports children's development through:

Kindergarten & Preschool Incursions
For Kindergartens & Preschools
Finding the right kindergarten or school incursion can be difficult.
🌿 You need it to be educational, fun and value for money
🌿 It has to fulfill the Learning Outcomes of the EYLF (for Kindergartens) and
🌿 Tie in with the STEM inquiry units (for Primary Schools).
🌿 Meaningful follow-up learning opportunities would also be great
We get it. And that's where Little Woodworkers™ can help.

Quite simply, we share everything we've learned.
Drawing on more than a decade of facilitating over 2,000 woodwork incursions across Melbourne, we share everything we've learned about introducing woodwork, sustainability education and practical life skills, confidently and successfully with children.
Topics include safety, tools, materials, workspace setup, risk management, planning, implementation, educator confidence, behaviour guidance, project selection, sustainability connections, practical teaching strategies and creating a culture where children can safely take appropriate risks, solve problems and develop real-world skills.
Our goal is not just to teach woodwork, but to equip educators with the confidence, knowledge and practical strategies to successfully implement woodwork experiences long after the training is complete.
