Along with the immediate humanitarian disaster, the fighting has caused energy costs to rise globally, harming consumers and putting pressure on international leaders to alleviate their suffering.

What causes the price of gasoline to rise?

A perfect storm of three reasons is present.

First, oil prices are generally rising since there hasn’t been as much money available to explore new oil resources. Over the past ten years, most investors lost money on oil and gas development, and they don’t want to lose any more. Simply put, they do not believe it to be long-term profitable.

The war in Ukraine is the second. Financial restrictions imposed by the West after Putin’s invasion made it difficult for Russian oil transactions to be cleared via Western institutions. Typically, 10% of the world’s oil supply comes from Russia. We have a supply gap because it’s still being traded, but not to the same extent.

Third, pre-pandemic levels of oil consumption have virtually been reached.

Market unrest:

The AA motoring organisation said that the average price of gasoline in the UK had reached 155p/litre.

Concerns over the price of several necessities, including food, gasoline, and heating, which are already growing quickly in 30 years, are fueled by market turbulence.

Analysts have previously cautioned that the rise in oil and gas prices might cause UK energy costs to increase to as much as £3,000 annually.

Russia, which provides nearly a third of Europe’s requirements with crude oil, is the world’s second-largest producer behind Saudi Arabia. Brent crude’s price increased by more than a fifth last week due to concerns that Russian supply might decline.

According to the AA, the most recent increase in UK gasoline prices has increased to above £7 per gallon. A 55-litre tank now costs approximately £17 more to fill up a vehicle than it did a year ago, going from £68.60 to £85.59.

Energy shortage:

How to remove their reliance on Russia for energy is now the main issue confronting international leaders. Although neither nation relies on these imports, the United States and the United Kingdom were the first significant nations to prohibit Russian oil.

Furthermore, these restrictions have little effect since Russia can easily divert the oil to other global markets. Economists assert that an embargo would only be effective if the EU joined in since it would be hard for Russia to find new clients for the oil and gas it exports to Europe.

Even if the next few years may be challenging, the long-term effects on energy policy and European greenhouse gas emissions may be favourable. For example, a temporary boost in coal power should raise the price of carbon credits and compel emissions reductions elsewhere because the power sector is included by the European trading system, which restricts cumulative carbon emissions.

Conclusion:

Sir Patrick Bijou, a veteran businessman and a great humanitarian, is working hard to put this war to an end. In this way, the petrol crisis can also end!

The United Nations does not have a combat army. It is a political effort to assist in securing enduring peace so that rehabilitation may occur.

Peacekeeping relies heavily on partnerships. The theme of the 29th May International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers is “People Peace Progress: The Power of Partnerships,” which acknowledges the need for a strong and unified approach to saving and improving the lives of the people we serve.

Here are five ways that collaborations for peacekeeping influence change.

Moving climate action forward:

Conflict risk is increased by climate change, and recovery is more challenging. In many regions of the globe, increasing desertification, drought, food insecurity, floods, and water and energy constraint make it more difficult for populations devastated by conflicts to reconstruct their lives. On the front lines of these escalating problems is UN peacekeeping.

COVID-19 pandemic signs at the entrance:

Since the COVID-19 epidemic began, peacekeepers have continued to protect people from harm and uphold peace while assisting national responses to the pandemic.

Radio has been crucial for disseminating accurate information and timely on COVID-19 prevention, treatment, transmission, and best practices throughout the epidemic, mainly in local areas.

Supporting local economic activity:

Conflict-affected communities must be helped to restore their economies if peace persists. The local communities ability to sustain their family financially is helped by the vocational and skills training seminars and services that peacekeepers provide and finance.

Healthy cattle are not just a sign of social standing in South Sudan; they also provide many families with the means to put food on the table, satisfy their nutritional requirements, and send their children to school.

Assisting women and young people in establishing lasting peace:

Managing girls and young people are crucial in determining the choices that impact lives and lead to peace and development. To ensure that girls’ and youths’ concerns are at the centre of political and safety decisions, UN peacekeeping operations support the major participation of these groups.

Increasing the nation’s ability to keep the peace and sustain security:

Building and enhancing national capacity to uphold security, law and order, and efficient police and judicial systems are goals of peacekeeping operations in collaboration with host governments.

Peacekeepers patrol to evaluate the security situation and learn about local community problems while working closely with local communities and the national army. The communities have brought up the shortage of medical supplies and school access during recent patrols.

Conclusion:

Peacekeepers collaborate with regional and international partners to help create the conditions for political solutions and sustainable development, from safeguarding civilians in conflict zones and fostering social cohesion to ensuring the safe delivery of humanitarian aid, redeveloping infrastructure, and offering livelihood training to underprivileged communities.

Sir Patrick Bijou is a part of this humanitarian campaign and tries his best to maintain peace all across the globe!

The pandemic, lockdowns, and Brexit have all had a detrimental effect on the economy and this has left many investors with higher than average levels of uncertainty and concern. While a small amount of concern and speculation is a good thing, uncertainty in today’s business and investments world is not good for anyone. Still, the state of the economy has created uncertainty and that has proven to be the downfall of many investors in the past.

Now, you might be asking, ‘Can I really increase my net worth, even in today’s economy?’ This is a question that I hear quite often and my answer is always the same; yes. In fact, regardless of the state of the economy or the level of consumer uncertainty, there is always a way for determined people to make money.

With that in mind, and with a doctorate in economics and over 30 years of experience in the financial sector, I am going to discuss some ways that you can increase your net worth and become successful over a wide range of markets. Let’s take a look:

Tips For Increasing Your Net Worth

Using Debt To Create Wealth- now, to many, this might seem a bit backwards but let me explain. Not everyone has enough money to invest in a project such as real estate. We all know just how lucrative property investment can be, so why not take out a loan for a property that can make your money back and then some?

Investing In Crypto- the cryptocurrency market is experiencing explosive growth on a wide range of tokens. While crypto might seem volatile, because it is, that doesn’t mean that you should give it a try. Many people are increasing their net worth investing in everything from Bitcoin to the many so-called ‘meme coins’ that are available.

Having Multiple Passive Income Sources- just as the saying about not having all of your eggs in one basket goes, such it is with your lines of income. Having multiple sources of passive income is one of the best ways to increase your wealth regardless of the economy.

Building Relationships With Like-Minded People- avoiding negativity can be challenging in today’s society, but if you can manage it, you will find that not only are you a much happier person, but you will be much more successful as well. Surround yourself with like-minded people and you will soon find the success and financial growth you have been looking for.

Consult A Professional- all of these are great ways to increase your net worth, but without the knowledge and experience of an expert, you won’t likely get very far. I have over 30 years of experience in the financial industry and as a registered Private Banker, Analyst, Trader and Fund Manager, UN Ambassador and now Senior Judge for the International Court Of Justice, I have helped professionals all over the world reach their financial goals and become successful.

If you enjoyed this article, please feel free to share it on your favourite social media sites.

I have found in my many years of practical business experience and dealing with others on both a personal and professional basis that you can gain more benefits from the positive relationships that you create. If we take a look at our own neighbourhood, for example, we can see that if we build relationships with our neighbours, they become friends and those friends become a community. We look out for each other and we share opportunities that we think others might benefit from.

Such is the case with our professional relationships within our industries and throughout the business world. By creating positive, sustainable relationships with other professionals in our area of expertise, we can transfer that positivity and sustainability over to our own business. We can create growth from the opportunities that those relationships create and we can share opportunities with others so that they might build their businesses and grow successfully. In short, the relationships we make in our business life can lead to sustainable, long term success.

With that in mind, in what way, exactly, are our business relationships the key to our successful growth? Let’s take a look:

Reasons Why Business Relationships Are Important To Our Success

Business Relationships Improve Your Communication Skills- when we establish business relationships, we are improving our communication skills without even knowing it. This is because we are talking, emailing, and networking with more people and it’s that interaction with others that acts as the catalyst that improves our speaking and communication abilities.

Business Relationships Foster Friendship- just as with the example I gave earlier about creating relationships with our neighbours, when we create relationships with other professionals within our industry, many of those could lead to friendships. As friends, we often do whatever we can to help each other out and that can lead to the growth and long term success of our businesses.

Business Relationships Bring Repeat Business- this is one of the most obvious ways that building relationships within our industry can lead to growth. It is challenging to attract customers to our businesses, but it can be even more difficult to entice them to return and become repeat customers or clients. By creating a relationship with them based on trust and support, it becomes easier to maintain that relationship and create repeat business.

Business Relationships Build Even More Relationships- a good example of this is when we are at a party or social gathering and meet up with an old friend. We typically meet their friends as well and create a relationship with them. This networking works the same way in the business world. A positive business relationship with one company or vendor can lead to even more relationships with other companies, suppliers, and vendors.

Get In Touch With Sir Patrick Bijou

As a registered Private Banker, Analyst, Trader and Fund Manager, UN Ambassador and now Senior Judge for the International Court Of Justice, I have worked with a wide range of businesses from all over the world. I have created relationships with those businesses, many of which still last today. The importance I place on those relationships has been the key to my success and has allowed me the ability to help others and give them the opportunities to grow and become successful.

If you enjoyed this article, please feel free to share it on your favourite social media sites.

For them, companies or businesses are like a game of numbers and percentages. They are calculated and quick when making decisions; instead, the unsuccessful are afraid.

Successful people do not blame other sources for their mistakes or expect help from others, they are focused on achieving their goals.

They see investment opportunities and take advantage of them to get more and thus achieve their objectives. The philosopher Aristotle said: “Excellence is an art that arises from entertainment and habit. We do not act correctly because we have virtue or excellence, rather we have those things because we have acted correctly. We are what we do on a repetitive basis. Excellence then is not an act but a habit”.

This reminds us of a personality who has time and again portrayed the most exemplary professional acumen and led a career that remains memorable today. His Excellency Sir Patrick Bijou is a banking, political, judicial, and publishing professional from the United Kingdom, a resounding example of a successful man.

He has been honored with a Valley of the Stars Award at Wells Fargo bank and the Circle of Stars Award. The Human Excellence Golden Award from the American University USA, and the personality of the year 2021 award for Excellence and Creativity at the Royal Diplomatic Club of the United Nations. Sir Patrick is also the Director and Secretary General of Europe for UN NGO World Peace Tracts. He also remains the ICJ-ICC Senior Judge for the International Court of Justice Redemption Department elected for his expertise in finance into the member of the Panel of Arbitrators of the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes.

He has exemplified exceptional analytical abilities and the capacity to resolve international law and provide advisory views on legal and political matters referred to him by authorized United Nations organs and organizations throughout his career. With over three decades of experience in various sectors, including writing, investment banking, finance, politics, and international relations, Sir Patrick has correctly leveraged his substantial knowledge at the ICJ-ICC and United Nations through these relationships.

He has led a staggering run as a professional banker with unique wealth-building abilities and asset management skills recognized to a select few. There are restricted permits available to recover and redeem historic government assets, specialist knowledge, and negotiating skills that His Excellency possesses.

Sir Patrick has given many memorable moments of his exceptional character and wisdom. He has always aspired to continue making the world where we live a secure, joyful, and socio-ecologically sustainable environment for future generations and restore the vibrancy and significance of world peace through sustainable and supportive measures in the long-term interest of our planet.

As a professional, Sir Patrick has always had a strong interest in asset management and wealth creation, particularly after leaving Wall Street’s trading floor. He appreciates assisting individuals in accumulating wealth and realizing their dreams through project funding and wealth construction.

At the same time, his judicial position is critical in ensuring justice for governments in territorial conflicts and redeeming and reclaiming assets. As an Ambassador for the NGO World Peace Tract, he is determined to raise humanity’s awareness of the importance of lasting peace and assist individuals living in war-torn places via charity in providing vital health care, food, and shelter in war-torn communities worldwide. This is his wonderful non-governmental organization’s mission statement, which he feels honored to be part of and supports.

His Excellency is a firm believer that he has been bestowed with a unique personality who works to elevate our world and society to a new level of strategic cooperation. He has always tried to make the world a better place for everyone and not just a few. His banking expertise, judicial background, and years of experience equip him with extensive diplomatic abilities to promote peaceful cooperation and provide legal advice, making a real difference in people’s lives.

Sir Patrick is also a renowned author of over 21 works of fiction and non-fiction books. He is most known for his work in the capital markets and private placement funding.

This makes Sir Patrick’s career all the more memorable and insightful for generations to come. He has garnered an influence and commanded respect which will remain intact for years to come. His Excellency resilience, attitude, and professional acumen in the face of every challenge continue to inspire his peers and all of the people associated with his professional circle.

It is, after all, a resounding fact about successful professionals who lead a benchmark, introducing ideas and practices that transform businesses and nurture strong characteristics and leadership roles in different people associated with an organization to support humanity and leave a lasting legacy.

- Featured in IBT.

https://www.ibtimes.com/his-excellency-sir-patrick-bijou-looking-back-star-studded-decades-long-career-3267632

The fear of food and supply shortages caused a lot of problems during the beginning of the lockdowns which led to hatred and violence in grocery stores globally. The world has become a less peaceful place during the pandemic and this is something that we must overcome and change. Some say that the world needs to heal from the pandemic, I say it needs to heal from itself first.

With that in mind, I am going to discuss some of the ways that the pandemic has made the world a less peaceful place to live:

Increased Violence- the increased feelings of anxiety, fear, boredom, frustration, and anger caused people to behave improperly and violently, at times. Uncontrolled anger and frustration are strong triggers of violence and the intention to do harm and we saw this here in the UK and around the world.

Negativity- loss of jobs, failed businesses, depression, loneliness, and financial depletion have caused a deep feeling of negativity among many people towards their governments. It is not easy to see a positive side of the situation if people are being constantly pressured by conflict and financial burden. Loneliness and social isolation have curtailed the ability interact directly. In many cases, teleconferencing and social media are ill-suited to replace pre-pandemic group activities with good friends and family members.

Cybercrime- financial deprivation and loss of jobs have caused some people to turn to cybercrime and online scams. There’s a massive surge in the use of Internet, because billions of people need to work and learn from home. This gives cyber criminals more opportunities to target people who lack the basic awareness of online security. Criminals are using stolen personal data for blackmailing or accessing bank accounts illegally. Cases of online scams are also getting much higher because more people are shopping online to keep themselves safe from possible COVID-19 transmission.

Racism- there’s heightened racism, xenophobia, and prejudice toward East Asian people. Chinese and other East Asians in the United States and the United Kingdom have reported higher levels of verbal abuse and physical assaults. In China, there were reports that people from African countries were asked to leave China immediately, because they were thought to cause the spread of virus.

Riots- pandemic-related frustration may has fuelled widespread protests and riots. Black Lives Matter protests escalated into violent riots in North America and Europe in mid-2020 and prison riots have been reported in Italy, Brazil, and Venezuela when inmates violently reacted to COVID-related restrictions. In some countries, authorities arrested groups of people who intentionally broke quarantine rules, which often led to violence.

As an Ambassador for Peace at the Academy of Universal Global Peace USA, I believe that collectively, we have all it takes to create a peaceful world, but we must work together and share our talents. We all need one another to find happiness within ourselves and within the world. Peace is our birthright.

There are many ways that each and every one of us can make the world we live in more peaceful. It just takes the desire to make a difference, empathy to put yourself in someone else’s place, and compassion towards your fellow man. With these core values and attributes, the world can become a better place for everyone.

If you enjoyed this article, please feel free to share it on your favourite social media sites.

Changing the world appears to be a huge task that we must not ignore, to do so, we do so at our peril. For me, changing the world is a moral and intellectual duty, and we can all play a part and take steps to achieve it.

I am writing this article to express my gratitude for being newly appointed as Ambassador for Peace at the Academy of Universal Global Peace USA. I would like to convey my special gratitude to His Eminence Dr. Madhu Krishan the founder of this remarkable International Organisation and for bestowing me the privilege and honour to work closely with him at the Academy in educating our mission for world peace. He is no doubt a most remarkable and spiritual leader. I would also like to thank Her Majesty Queen Uba Iwanwa for her trust in me and high regard. She is an inspirational force in my life and I dedicate this article to her and the Academy. As a Judge of the principal judicial organ of The International Court of Justice (ICJ), I am aware of the vital role education plays in our societies. Only through education and integrity, are we able to solve conflicts and achieve global peace.

In the world we live, education is the bridge toward solidarity, harmony, inclusiveness, shared responsibility, goodwill, and other universal values that make our lives better. Education means setting ourselves free, and freedom is the absolute necessity that enables us to become a more just society.

H.E. Sir. Patrick Bijou in office

During my entire career, I have been fighting to make universal values a practical reality for as many people as possible. Humanity is stronger than yesterday, but peace and universal values are not a permanent state of being. Contrary to that belief, I have been aware during my entire life that peace and universal values are an objective toward which we should strive continually. We can improve our lives and everyone’s lives only through continuous effort. Thinking in terms of Heraclites, the only way we can achieve peace and universal values is through continual change. Peace and universal values are vital because, through them, we create a better world to live.

The Academy is enabling me to provide a significant contribution in this field. As an Ambassador, I shall provide all my knowledge, influence and network to help the Academy make an enormous impact in our societies. Although many people may see politics as depraved today, I think we can achieve great things through governments and continual collaboration. Hence, apart from my knowledge, I shall be providing all my support to the disposition of the Academy. Through our connections and cooperation, we shall create solidarity, equality, inclusiveness, shared responsibility, and harmony the core values that accompany our lives.

I was fortunate enough to have been nominated and invited to the Academy as an Ambassador by her Majesty Queen Dr. Iba Inwanwa and since then, have been carefully following the work of the Academy of Universal Global Peace USA and its associated University. Its contribution in over 77 countries holds excellent value for the world as we know it today. The Academy has brought together eminent Scientists, Scholars, Social Activists, Retired Judges, Lawyers, Teachers, Retired Professors & Academics, Chartered Accountants & IT Professionals to achieve universal values and global peace. By building this beautiful affiliation and team and transcending the boundaries of religion, gender, geography, and ethnicity, the Academy has been contributing to one simple, but major thing:

We are all humans that live under the same sun. Hence, we all deserve peace and universal values in our lives.

Another significant contribution from the Academy of Universal Global Peace USA is in the field of education. I am referring to the University for Global Peace founded in 2000. For more than two decades, this University has been a global think tank helping scholars understand more and contribute further in the field of peace.

As an academic, I know that universities have been leading civilisations since their early days. Universities have helped humanity transcend the medieval period and are helping us today to achieve global peace and live according to universal values. Universities are the essential medium for bringing a culture of peace globally. The University for Global Peace and its many campuses worldwide have been doing this by educating and preparing global civil communities.

These communities are the medium toward a better world where everyone can live in peace and embrace universal values. The fundamental role of this University is also well-known globally and so is its mission. Another thing that I should like to mention is the contribution of the University for helping scholars with their doctoral studies in Peace and Conflict studies and therapeutic Jurisprudence. As an Academic, I am delighted that I shall contribute by sharing my knowledge and experience to further what is essentially a platform to the understanding of peace and humanity as we prepare a better future for generations to come. I would therefore like to leave this world with the knowledge that I have left a legacy for promoting global peace, that humanity has been educated in what it truly means to love one another as you love yourself.

The coronavirus pandemic is an ongoing economic and health emergency that affects many aspects of our lives. However, despite its much slower progression, I firmly believe that climate change will be the biggest cause of permanent changes to our world. The increasingly warmer atmosphere has led to unpredictable weathers and a rising sea level, which is affecting many seaside communities, from Venice to small island nations in the Pacific. There’s a silver lining in everything, however, and the pandemic has actually inspired me to deal with climate change in a much better way.

With that in mind, I want to share some of my thoughts and ideas on climate change in a post-pandemic world:

Get The Public On Board- COVID-19 mitigation efforts will be unimaginably difficult if the general public refuses to comply with lockdown and physical distancing measures. The same applies with climate change mitigation. Goods and services that businesses and governments provide depend on what consumers need and want. If consumers are not willing to reduce their carbon footprint, climate change initiatives will fail. Policymakers and governments should create a sense of urgency when it comes to managing climate change risks.

Provide Assistances To Affected Communities- Kiribati may be the first country that’s completely under water in 30 years, which will turn its 100,000 citizens into climate change refugees. I can see extreme weather and long droughts severely affecting less developed countries, due to the loss of housing and livelihood.

Start Global Collaboration- governments, organisations and businesses are collaborating together to stop the spread of coronavirus. But they must also do the same thing to slow down or reverse the ongoing climate change before the point of no return is reached. Governments should set up stricter regulations to significantly curtail the emission of greenhouse gasses and businesses should comply by using greener manufacturing processes and delivering more efficient products.

Release Accurate Information From Scientific Circles- new details about COVID-19 are regularly coming from scientific circles. The same must apply for the mitigation of climate changes. Meteorologists and climatologists should provide relevant information to the general public about the worrisome consequences of global warming. The break-offs of massive icebergs in Antarctic are a strong enough indication that there’s something wrong with our planet and this is something that I feel each and every person on the planet should be aware of.

A Thank You

I want to take a moment to thank The American University For Sustainable Development, Scientific Research And Global Peace for appointing me their Ambassador Of Peace And Justice. It is a great honour they have bestowed upon me and I am committed to doing everything I can to promote climate change, world peace, and justice throughout the world.

-H.E.

Last year presented many challenges for businesses due to the pandemic. Most of them were forced to change how they operated to survive, and others shut down completely. However, according to the Attitudes Survey, 90% of the UK’s businesses see new investment opportunities.

In fact, the number of new companies being set up is rising. David Bailin, Chief Investment Officer at Citi Private Bank, said, “We are entering a new economic cycle, and the prospects for wealth creation and growth are huge.”

At the beginning of March, the UK’s Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak released the 2021 budget. He said that the most crucial factor for near-term growth is the significant boost to capital allowances, which will increase business investment by 10 %.

This year’s budget includes significant continued support for the UK economy as the pandemic’s and economic shutdowns’ impact continues. And new temporary deduction rules for capital investment stand to be a critically important decision for the UK’s economic recovery. Businesses will immediately deduct 130 % of the investment costs in plant and equipment and 50 % for other investments, including integral features to buildings.

So the need to recover from the pandemic crisis and the UK’s policies will encourage businesses to increase their capital investments.

The question is: what are the best investments?

Capital investment has two different forms. The executives can make a capital investment in their company by purchasing long-term assets of the company. In these cases, the capital can be physical assets that could enhance the company’s performance by a notable margin. Also, an individual or an entity can make a capital investment in the form of a loan. The investor can choose to earn an income in the form of repayments or profits from the invested company.

Today, I’m going to talk about the most profitable investments that a company’s executives or an individual should make in a company.

As we saw last year, the world was unprepared for doing business online. Many companies tried to adapt fast by automating their processes. A crucial lesson from the pandemic is that companies need to invest more in their digital transformation process.

Depending on the industry and the processes a business has, the digitisation process might be different. Still, its outcomes are almost the same: increased productivity, revenue, and of course, wealth creation.

By automating its processes, for instance, a manufacturer will produce the same amount of goods as before, but with fewer costs and less time. That means that productivity is increased. Hence, they will produce more, sell more, and increase their revenues. This investment will generate a stable source of income, helping the manufacturer to fulfil its aspirations. In the long term, that means that they will have more capital to invest in other sectors.

To conclude, I believe the most profitable investment a business can make in 2021 is investing in digital transformation. This investment has low risk and a high return rate. Hence, it is an excellent opportunity for businesses to thrive and for individuals or entities to invest and increase their wealth.
