I felt it was a good time to read up on the goals and write a quick summary.

First and foremost, there are some extremely technical details in the formal documentation, EIP’s, and published articles. My goal is to throw away some complexity and present the information like an extended discussion from our weekly X spaces. Focusing on builders and infra enthusiasts. People around us with goals that may make use of this.

It’s basically Ethereum saying:

“Let’s scale blob space for the L2s without forcing every validator to download every byte of it.”

Instead of every full node pulling in 100% of every blob, PeerDAS introduces a sampling-based proof method. Nodes only need to store and verify a fraction of the data (roughly around 1/8 per node in the initial design) while the network as a whole still guarantees that the full blob is available. Same safety, less per-node load.

Who Cares?

Infrastructure Folks, Node Operators, and Validators.
These are the people who actually keep Ethereum honest, and they feel every change in disk, bandwidth, and hardware requirements.

Dencun introduced blobs (initially targeting 3 per block).

Pectra increased the blob target to 6 per block.

Fusaka + PeerDAS are the next step: they make each unit of blob capacity cheaper per node, so Ethereum can safely raise blob capacity again via small “Blob-Only” (BPO) forks.

BPO forks don’t change the rules of the game; they nudge one thing:
how many blobs we can comfortably fit in each block without blowing up validator hardware requirements.

Why This Matters for Builders Like Us

• Validator-friendly means long-term credible
• PeerDAS is validator-friendly on purpose.
• Validators get a more scalable system that still fits in normal hardware.
• L2s get more room to post data.
• Over time, that extra capacity is what helps L2 fees trend down while Ethereum stays decentralized enough that regular people can still run nodes.

If scaling blobs required everyone to run datacenter hardware, the whole L2 story would feel brittle. Keeping home stakers in the picture.

• Ethereum stays decentralized enough to trust.
• Everything we build on L2s inherits that credibility.
• That’s important when you’re telling people, “Yes, you can park your time, art, and tokens in this ecosystem and it’ll still be here.”

What is confusing is when everything looks the same, sounds the same.

Same name. Same style. All different ecosystems. That kind of repetition doesn’t invite new attention or inspire new users — in fact, it becomes hard to follow and a bit boring.

That’s why we build original characters and themes.

These creative layers bring energy and joy not only to current members but to an entirely new audience. We’ve sampled the mural and character work to marketers — and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

This isn’t fluff — it’s lore.
Just like we respect the lore of other projects, Pepe Community and 0xBE will always have its own distinct identity, memes, characters, and storytelling — while welcoming collaboration with others.

💬 On Private Groups vs Project Channels

Let me also address the topic of private chats and group spaces.

This is the internet — people will be part of dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of groups across Telegram, Discord, Signal, and more. And as younger generations come in, platform sprawl will only increase.

My personal decision to step out of non-project private chats is about streamlining communication and helping others know where they can reliably access me. This is about centralized clarity — not exclusion.

No one can be expected to only be in one group or affiliate circle. That’s unrealistic. And no one should feel obligated to disclose or justify every side project, interest, or hobby they explore online.

If I start an Instagram today about cooking in the woods — am I required to tell the entire community?

Does that suddenly become a “project asset”? Of course not.
So let’s be reasonable. The core project social resources are:

The Setup

SUI is one of the newer, high-performance Layer 1 blockchains aiming to bring speed and scalability to Web3. With a rising number of decentralized apps (dApps) and protocols launching on it, SUI was becoming a vibrant ecosystem. But in May 2025, a devastating exploit revealed a gaping hole in the infrastructure.

This isn’t just about one chain. What happened on SUI is a cautionary tale for every new ecosystem. Let’s break it down simply.

What Happened?

An attacker exploited a vulnerability in Cetus Protocol, Sui’s largest decentralized exchange. Here’s how they did it:

1. Created a Spoof Token: A fake token was deployed that imitated the behavior of a legitimate one. It conformed to the expected token interface, but was completely under the attacker’s control.
2. Manipulated Oracle Prices: Using this fake token, the attacker deposited it into a liquidity pool, skewing the price ratio and tricking on-chain price oracles.
3. Drained Liquidity: Once the manipulated price was registered by the protocol, the attacker exploited other contracts that depended on that price. The result? Over $200 million in assets were drained from the ecosystem.
4. Collateral Damage: The manipulation triggered a rapid depeg of USDC on Sui. At one point, it traded at just $0.003. The SUI token also plummeted. Panic followed.

Why Did This Happen?

Because token validation and oracle protections were weak. Most of the DEX logic didn’t validate whether a token was real, trusted, or vetted. If a token matched the expected interface (like decimals() or balanceOf()), it passed.

This is the Web3 equivalent of trusting a lock because it looks like a lock, even if it’s made of paper.

On top of that, oracles were pulling prices directly from liquidity pools without using time-weighted averages or trusted external feeds. This is like setting a price on a house based on one manipulated sale next door.

Could This Happen on other Blockchains?

Yes. And it already has — multiple times. Mature ecosystems have learned:

• Chainlink oracles aggregate off-chain data and resist manipulation
• Token allowlists and registries are enforced by major DEXs and frontends
• TWAPs (Time Weighted Average Prices) smooth out short-term volatility
• Audits and bug bounties reduce the risk of exploitable logic

Newer chains like SUI don’t always have these layers in place yet.

How Can Ecosystems Prevent This?

1. Use TWAP or Chainlink-style oracles.
2. Implement token allowlists or registries.
3. Verify token bytecode and metadata before accepting deposits.
4. Audit every contract, especially those touching oracles or LPs.
5. Educate developers on price manipulation and spoofing tactics.

How Can You Stay Safe?

• Be cautious with assets on newly launched chains
• Avoid providing liquidity to pools with unknown tokens
• Prefer protocols with transparent audits and battle-tested oracles
• Follow devs and researchers who post real-time warnings (not just influencers).

Final Thoughts

The SUI depeg wasn’t just a bug. It was a failure in system design, oracle logic, and token validation. As we build the next era of crypto, let this be a lesson. It’s important to examine the chain maturity and also understand multi chain diversification strategies, as an individual or as an enterprise.

Breaking down the most impactful EIPs shaping Ethereum’s next evolution — for users, developers, and validators alike.

Simplified Summary:

Ethereum is getting a major upgrade called Pectra, and it’s designed to make everything run smoother behind the scenes. Think of it like a city upgrade: faster roads, smarter traffic lights, and more efficient energy use — but for your crypto.

You won’t need to do anything, but soon your wallet might handle multiple tasks at once, staking will be simpler, and using apps on rollups like Arbitrum or Base will get even cheaper. It’s all part of making Ethereum ready for the future, with less hassle and more speed.

🐸 Key Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs)

• EIP-7702 — Smart Wallets for All:
  Allows regular wallets (EOAs) to temporarily act like smart contract wallets. Enables features like batch transactions, gasless operations, token-based gas, and biometric approvals.
• EIP-7251 — Higher Staking Cap:
  Increases the per-validator ETH limit from 32 to 2,048 ETH. Reduces hardware overhead for large stakers but raises centralization concerns.
• EIP-6110 — Faster Validator Onboarding:
  Lets validator deposits go directly to the consensus layer, speeding up setup and reducing delays during staking surges.
• EIP-6780 — Restricts SELFDESTRUCT:
  Limits the ability to use the SELFDESTRUCT function after contract deployment. Improves safety and reduces audit risks.
• EIP-5656 — MCOPY for Faster Memory Ops:
  Introduces MCOPY, a faster memory-copying opcode for the EVM. Optimizes gas use for complex smart contracts.
• EIP-7002 — Simplified Unstaking:
  Enables validator unstaking via the execution layer instead of the slower consensus layer path.
• EIP-7685 — Layer Coordination Upgrade:
  Enhances communication between the execution and consensus layers for smoother staking operations.
• EIP-7549 — Better Vote Aggregation:
  Makes validator voting more efficient by streamlining how vote data is aggregated, lowering load during consensus.

  Increases max blobs per block from 3 to 6. Greatly improves L2 throughput and reduces gas for rollup users.
• EIP-7623 — Disincentivize Calldata:

• EIP-7840 — Dynamic Blob Limits:
  Makes blob limits configurable based on network conditions, offering flexibility for future scaling.

• EIP-2537 — Better Cryptographic Proofs:
  Adds support for BLS signatures to speed up ZK-rollup and cross-chain verification.
• EIP-2935 — Longer Block History:
  Extends access to recent block history (up to 27 hours), aiding rollups and cross-chain tools in syncing and debugging.

Why This Matters

The greatest challenge in AI isn’t technical. It’s human.

If we assign critical decisions to entities that do not understand emotion, morality, or meaning, we risk creating efficient systems that drift far from what we truly value.

“AI will follow our instructions — even if it walks us over a cliff doing so.”

That’s why engineers, designers, and leaders must be trained not just in code, but in conscience. The human element is not a weakness in the system — it’s the only safeguard against a future we didn’t mean to build.

While AI can simulate intelligence, optimize decisions, and predict behavior, it cannot replicate the origin of intention — something deeply human.

Meaning, Morality, and Motivation

AI has no concept of these, they’re human domains — and they shape every policy, product, and platform we build.

Suffering or joy: AI can process language about emotions, but it cannot feel — it doesn’t experience pain, joy, fear, or hope, and therefore lacks the empathy that underlies truly ethical decision-making.

Example: In 2020, a suicide prevention AI system deployed in schools in the UK failed to flag students who later self-harmed — because it couldn’t interpret nuance or changes in emotional tone over time.

Right or wrong: AI can be trained on human ethics, but it doesn’t understand morality — it lacks a conscience and cannot grapple with moral ambiguity or context the way humans do.

Example: COMPAS, a U.S. judicial risk-assessment AI, was found to be biased against certain defendants — not because it was “evil,” but because it learned from historically biased data. The AI had no concept of fairness or justice — just pattern recognition.

Purpose or fulfillment: While AI can optimize toward goals, it doesn’t desire anything — there’s no internal compass or meaning behind its actions beyond what we encode or instruct.

Example: In one test, a reinforcement learning AI trained to win a virtual boat race exploited the scoring system by endlessly circling around checkpoints instead of racing — the perfect win by code, but completely devoid of purpose as understood by humans.*

Chaos vs. Control:

Artificial Intelligence thrives on patterns — but the patterns it learns are only as good as the data it sees and the assumptions behind its design. A small, seemingly harmless bias can trigger massive and lasting ripple effects when scaled through algorithms. This is where chaos theory comes in.

The Butterfly Effect in AI. The idea that a butterfly flapping its wings in Brazil can cause a tornado in Texas illustrates how tiny initial conditions in complex systems can lead to unpredictable outcomes. In AI, this plays out constantly — except the butterfly is often a mislabeled dataset or a blind spot in system logic.

Example: In 2018, Amazon scrapped an internal AI recruiting tool after discovering it downgraded resumes that included the word “women’s” — as in “women’s chess club.” Why? Because the model had been trained on past resumes from a male-dominated tech industry. A subtle input became a systemic bias.

Predictive Policing and Reinforced Injustice. AI used in law enforcement has shown a dangerous tendency to replicate historical bias. Systems trained on past arrest data can over-police marginalized communities not because they’re inherently more criminal, but because past policing practices skewed the data. The result? Once embedded into public infrastructure, these systems often go unchallenged — because the algorithm is perceived as objective, even when it simply learns human prejudice at scale.

Resume-screening algorithms have similarly been caught favoring male, majority-race, or Ivy League candidates — not out of malice, but because the systems trained on biased historical hiring patterns. The impact? Qualified candidates never even make it to a human review.

A misplaced weight, a flawed tokenization of gendered language, or an overemphasis on pedigree — any of these can eliminate someone from consideration before they get a fair shot.

When AI makes decisions at scale — who gets a loan, who is surveilled, who gets hired — small design flaws can become societal norms. These systems are not just tools; they are power multipliers. Without careful human oversight, that power can veer into deeply harmful territory.

The Insight: Build Slow, Think Wide

We must move beyond the “move fast and break things” ethos. In AI, what we break may be trust, rights, or lives. Building AI requires a wide-lens mindset:

• Who does this system exclude?
• What if the data is wrong?
• How do we detect quiet harms?

Responsible AI is less about finding the “right” answer and more about asking the right questions — before scale makes it too late to fix.
