The Orange County Riptide is a wood bat, summer collegiate baseball organization that competes yearly from June to August. Established in 2015, The OC Riptide provides the Orange County community with a family-friendly and affordable sports entertainment option during the summer months.
Top level college baseball players play in Orange County every year, giving residents unequaled access today to the future stars of professional baseball. Notable OC Riptide alumni that have advanced all the way to Major League Baseball include Caleb Kilian (Cubs), Dominic Fletcher (Diamondbacks) and Trey Lipscomb (Nationals).
Competing in the California Collegiate League (CCL), the Orange County Riptide won the CCL Championship in 2017. The OC Riptide has appeared in the CCL Playoffs six out of the last seven seasons.
The OC Riptide is mainly comprised of Division I players with a small mix of Division II and top-notch Division III, NAIA and Junior College players. Players from outside of the Orange County area come to California and stay with host families for the summer while they pursue their dream of potentially playing professional baseball one day.
