Welcome to the Patreon page of Pygame Community, a dedicated online community of fans and users of the pygame library.

We have the largest dedicated online community of pygame fans and users on Discord.

Our aim to enhance the community around the library by hosting exciting game jams, creating cool community games, and more.

We provide a welcoming space to learn, master and create games with pygame, or to hang out with developers, content creators, gamers, artists, musicians, and a lot of other cool people.

Why Patreon?

As an online community, we want to offer exciting features to our members, as well as new ways to reward them for their achievements. Event winners should receive awards for their efforts and creativity. Pygame developers should be, where possible, supported for the hard work they put into the popular and versatile game creation library. Our Discord bot developers should receive monetary support to cover the costs of hosting our versatile bot-applications, which enable the execution of pygame code right inside of Discord. With your help, we can enhance our community with these features any beyond, whilst giving back to those who made it possible.

What will my contributions be spent on?

These are the primary needs that your support helps us to address:

1. Bot hosting: Your financial support will be used to cover web-hosting costs for the custom bot-applications present in our Discord community server. This allows us to offer a better uptime for these applications and to continue improving and creating them.

2. Community event rewards: We aim to use the raised funds to reward winners of our community events. These rewards will range from Discord Nitro gifts to gift cards on various platforms (e.g. Steam) and other types of rewards in the future.

What will my contributions NOT be spent on?

1. Paying community managers: Admins, moderators and other managers of Pygame Community are volunteering their time to run the community and will not receive any sort of monetary compensation, despite their innate coolness.
