About
QGIS Armenia is the local user group for practitioners working with geographic data in and about Armenia. We support the use of open-source GIS tools across research, planning, heritage preservation, and environmental work.
Our community serves both Armenian and English speakers, and we maintain resources tailored to local data sources and workflows.
Goals
- Bring together all the locals interested in mapping and QGIS, as well as organize regular events and workshops.
- Maintain Armenian-language support by localizing interface and documentation for QGIS.
- Handle local data sources such as cadastral, topographic, and administrative layers specific to Armenia.
- Preserve heritage & environment by utilizing tools such as QGIS and respective plugins and practices for cultural and natural heritage mapping.
