Welcome to my corner of the Internet!

Hey there! I am Alvan, 24, programmer and FOSS enthusiast. I am working as a SWE and studying M. Sc. E-Government at the same time. So far it has been a delight.

I also collect vinyl records. Mostly rock and jazz, but I usually get whatever sounds nice at the HiFi stereo system they have at the local record shop - which is whatever they put on. During winter, I learned knitting and enjoyed it a lot.

Currently my new shiny thing is Late to Party FM, which I'm trying to make something out of.

New blog engine!

This blog is powered by Tanager, which is a blogging engine I have developed, mainly for myself. I do think of open sourcing it some time in future. If you are really keen on trying it out, drop me an email, we can discuss.

I am the most proud of the widgets. I've always wanted those in my blog, but Hugo's rendering wasn't the best suit for those. Now I can implement backend for the widgets :D. E.g., Music widget fetches my recent tracks from Last.fm in the server-side.

Digital Garden

I recently got to know the term "Digital Garden", and decided this particular place is my very own digital garden! Apparently blogs are more structured and well written, in the meantime, gardens are just brain dumps. I love this term because it takes that heaviness and responsibility from blogging, and it becomes easier to - well - just put something out there! Join now, start a blog!
