FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Princeton, TX: The City of Princeton will break ground on J.J. Book Wilson Park (650 Beauchamp Boulevard) on Thursday, February 19, at 10 a.m., marking a major milestone in the City’s continued investment in parks, recreation, and quality of life. The project is being delivered in partnership with Rudick Construction, HDLA, and SPA Skateparks, whose combined expertise is helping bring this long-awaited community destination to life. EPT Commercial is overseeing the project.
The centerpiece of the new park will be a purpose-built skatepark designed by SPA Skateparks, a nationally recognized leader in skatepark design and construction. The skatepark will provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging space for skaters of all ages and skill levels, reflecting direct community input and supporting positive youth engagement.
“The groundbreaking at J.J. Book Wilson Park is a proud milestone for our city. Through the Parks Bond and careful planning, we are transforming community input into real, visible progress. These enhancements will create spaces where neighbors connect, children play, and families build lasting memories right here in Princeton. And this is just one small piece of a much bigger vision for the future of our city,” said Mayor Eugene Escobar, Jr.
Chase Bryant, Director of Parks and Recreation, emphasized the broader impact of the project, stating, “J.J. Book Wilson Park represents a major step forward for Princeton’s park system. This skatepark, along with the park’s other amenities, was intentionally designed to meet the needs of our growing community while creating a space where residents can be active, connect with one another, and feel proud of the place they call home.”
In addition to the skatepark, J.J. Book Wilson Park will feature open green space and thoughtfully designed recreational amenities that encourage movement, connection, and multi-generational use. The park is envisioned as a destination where families can gather, neighbors can connect, and the community can enjoy time outdoors.
“At Rudick Construction Group, we believe the most meaningful projects are the ones that bring communities together,” said Clay Rudick, CEO of Rudick Construction Group. “J.J. Book Wilson Park is more than a recreational space. It’s an investment in Princeton’s families, youth, and future. We’re proud to partner with the City of Princeton and the project team to deliver a space that will serve this community for generations.”
J.J. Book Wilson Park is part of the City’s parks investment and aligns with Princeton’s long-range planning efforts to create high-quality public spaces that meet the needs of a rapidly growing community. The City’s partnerships with Rudick, HDLA, EPT, and SPA Skateparks underscore a shared commitment to delivering well-designed recreational facilities that serve residents now and into the future.
Construction will begin following the groundbreaking, with project updates shared as major milestones are reached. Residents are encouraged to follow City communication channels for the latest information.
