Today's #GoogleDoodle celebrates Japanese inventor Seiichi Miyake. In 1965, Miyake spent his own money to invent tactile blocks or Tenji blocks in an effort to help his friend navigate. Today, these raised bumps & bars are used on sidewalks & in public spaces around the world!
A pair of legs and a white cane standing on tactile blocks. The coloured bumps spell out "GOOGLE".

With a mission to give everyone the power to create and share ideas and information instantly without barriers, it is unacceptable that Twitter’s #Accessibility Experience Team (@TwitterA11y) has been eliminated as part of the company’s mass layoffs. 🧵(1/4)
