While we’re on the topic of rare Thomas knockoffs, and Plarail-related ones at that, here’s something I found on a listing a while ago: This Korean bootleg Thomas set called ‘Picnic Train’ (피크닉 열차). (1/6)

A few months ago, I found this peculiar bootleg TOMY Plarail Thomas while browsing a thrift store. Aside from the face, this knockoff is quite accurate to the real thing, and the quality of the plastic feels more or less the same as the original. More info below:

Teacher: The test isn’t that confusing. The test:
A picture of Rheneas with Sir Handel’s face. The nameplate below erroneously labels him as Skarloey.

Found these cab controls I made for a scrapped cardboard “closeup” scale Thomas model back in 2021. A bit rough around the edges, though I remember it was a pretty fun build nonetheless.

Here’s a little something funny I just realized. You ever notice how in all of these knockoff TOMY Thomas sets there’s always two Annies or two Clarabels? It’s like some weird running gag that both are never featured in the same set.

I could be wrong about this, but it seems like the Anatex Thomas Rollercoaster wasn’t the only toy to use a face cast/mould from the Gauge 3.5 ‘Pack Scale’ props. The shape of the eyeholes and nose seem to match up pretty well in my opinion.
