I say this with love in my heart: Every time an author says "My book doesn't have any comps" I think one of two things: 1) You don't read very much, do you? 2) You haven't done even the most cursory of websearches on your topic. HERE'S HOW TO FIND YOUR DAMN COMPS:

literature-map.com is magic. Start with the author you'd most love to be blurbed by and see what other authors show up for them. If your author doesn't come up, pick someone more famous in the same vein.

"I don't have any comps" does not make you a wild, creative maverick. It makes you disrespectful of your colleagues in craft. It makes you look like someone who doesn't read & can't be bothered to research. Not knowing your shelf makes you look unqualified to be there at all.
