What a privilege to honor the great legacy and life of my dear friend and mentor, Speaker Bill Batchelder— an iconic public servant who understood and liked people as much as he understood and liked public policy. Batch made us all better elected officials and better people.
I didn’t take enough abuse from people I don’t know for my congressional redistricting proposal so I volunteered to ref the CYO games this morning. Fortunately I drew Coach Joe Whitaker who I coached in 1993. He went easy on me.

I’m pleased to announce that Senate Bill 89, which provides flexibility to Ohio’s career technical centers and improves eligibility for the EdChoice scholarship program, has been approved by both the Ohio Senate and Ohio House of Representatives and will be sent to the Governor.
