Someone sent this to me and it’s bone chilling in its accuracy
Button that says “literally just complete the single task you’re supposed to get done so you can enjoy yourself later” and a man sweating

🎉 I'm thrilled to announce that I've accepted a new position: Director of Engineering, Core Developer Web, at Google. I'll be leading the Web Infrastructure teams that power all Google apps including OSS efforts like Angular.

I think about things like this when people want to apply AI to critical tasks without testing or human intervention. And you should, too.

So strange I never saw people count the lines of code Steve Jobs or Elon Musk have written 🤔

🎇 I made a small tool for everyone: CSS Grid Generator. You can designate rows, columns, gaps, and units, and then drag to create child divs to make dynamic layouts with ease! Open source on GitHub and deployed on @Netlify cssgrid-generator.netlify.com

I've been using this terminal app called thefuck for years and it still cracks me up because I'm 12. It corrects errors in previous console commands. So if you type the wrong thing, you just say 'fuck' and it gives you what you probably meant. github.com/nvbn/thefuck

Someone was recently telling me they were a "Code Ninja". I don't want to work with a Ninja, they leave a bloody mess. I want to work with a "Code Janitor". Comes in the middle of the night, cleans things up, you only know they were there because everything is organized and tidy.

The most successful people I've met: 1. Study daily 2. Eat well 3. Thrive on others 4. Are literal sharks in the ocean 5. Are one of 7 horcruxes 6. Replace their DNA w/ blockchain 7. Have eagles take them to Middle Earth 8. Own 2 dragons, 1 undead 9. Eat only the middle of Oreos

I miss the useless web. I miss your grandpa’s blog. I miss weird web art projects that trolled me. I miss fan pages for things like hippos. I wish I didn’t feel like the web was collapsing into just a few sites plus a thousand resumes.

Last night when I was sleeping, I apparently rolled over, sleep-shouted in my husbands face “and that’s why we do unit tests!” And rolled back over.

Most of us who work on heavily used systems at scale saw this one coming, and that they would propose a rewrite as they just have, and we also don’t think this is the answer. This is why hubris is a very counterproductive quality in engineering. Why do we all agree on this?
George Hotz: that's what Elon told em my job was and I will try my hardest to do it. I have 12 weeks. Also trying to get rid of that nondismissable login popup after you scroll a little bit ugh these things ruin the internet
George Hotz: Resigned from Twitter today. Appreciate the opportunity, but I didn't think there was any real impact I could make there. Besides, ti was sad to see my GitHub withering. Back to coding!

I'm disheartened to see folks in Nigeria denied access to this platform, among so many other challenges as well. VPN it up my friends! We love you ♥️🇳🇬 #KeepitOn
